I too had last minute worries, (I actually showed my husband where the accounts and insurance files are) and email my kids before surgery to tell them I loved them. My 10 year old girl email back "mom did they put something that makes you nice during the surgery). I replied yes a happy chip. anyway I'm 4 days post op and walked 4 kms today with a friend and have not walked past the mail box in over a year. This will be a tool, and not a cure, you will have to work with it, but it def. gives a boost. good luck, and the risk out weights the danger of being over weight during the coming years.

I had the lap band 4 days ago, and am so glad I did it. I too was worried, (I went to mx) but would do it again in a heart beat. I am so pumped I walked 4 kms today and am going to bed early with no nap since surgery. I have only researched the lap band and have never heard of the vert band? which ever way you go it will be the best thing. remember its a tool and not a cure.

Hi I'm 4 days post op and feeling great. surgery was friday feb 29th, and on sunday walked 3 hours at the mall in tj and today made 4 kms at ducks walking path. I'm a bit sore. I also got gas pills in mx and they work great, but still a lot of gas and bloating. I'm so glad i did this. no weight loss yet, but I'm ok with that. donna

my friend and I were just banded. we both got different bands, are the same and 3 pounds weight difference. does any body know why the 2 sizes, same dr. thx donna :rolleyes2: happy to be banded.

just returned today, it was better than I expected. the doctor (kuri) and his staff, the hotel, hospital was great. one note though, the pm nurses english was limited, but day ones and staff all spoke pretty good english. I wish I learned a bit more. but would it again in a heart beat, on day 3 even went shopping! donna

If this ever happens, flip her a quarter and tell her to call some who gives a shit! good for you, I would have sat on her.

Hi,I never received any info pot smoking, except fro smokes which I am day 2 of quiting. Never smoke pot,] ( I like in bc), anyway my surgery is in 5 days, and I just quite. I also didn't receive anything about smoning (well verabley) earlier on. any advise

Hi, I'm having surgery next friday and this sat I'm having my last party. I will prob only have a few beers, but love my live music. we have booked a live blues band for the house, and do this 2 times per year. this is my pre-band party and I'm so looking forward to this. I didn't even think to check with my dr about this, so I will try to take it easy. I will not drink after band is done but wanted this so bad 1 week before my band date. I'm not on a pre-opt diet so I think I should be ok? any thoughts on this?

I had leg surgery, and had 54 (large staples) they looked really gross, but did not hurt at all when be removed. though 4 years later, there is still some numbess.

well, I booked next thurs , and tonight I went out for open mike in a local town in white rock bc. I also book a live blues band in our house. (we do this every end of oct and one more) I book next sat th 29th, and will have 2 lives band here at the house. I leave next thurs for surgery and know I wil no longer be drinking more than 1 glass of wine, I'm so ready for this. and will get it out sat. (I don't drink at the start of our party drink water for a few hours, but will end up drinking about 3 glasses of wine. I know this part of my life will change, and am so ready for it. wish me good luck, but the music will stay play on.

I'm sorry you have had such a bad time, hope it gets better soon. I'm having mine done at the end of the month. I have had a tummy tuck, and hernia removed, with mesh in my tummy. Could this also happen to me to have a open surgery?

Hi, I live in bc and and after months of research, my friend and I are going to Mexico on the 27th of feb. we are so excited to be going. we are spending 2 nights in the hospital and 2 nights in a hotel near by. one of the reasons we are going to mexico is we are self pay it is only 6800 in mexico and 14,k in vcr. There is one person in vcr that I spoke with and she goes to arlington wash for fills and it was no problem. as we live close to the boarder this is the route for fills that we are going to take. good luck with your research and decision.

we susan and I are leaving for mx on the 28th for surgery on the 29th. should we bring some pain control with us or do they supply it. also we are 2 nights in hsp and 2 night in hotel. Is this long enough to recover for a 4 hour flight home? any info wud be aprc. dr kuri is our surgern.

what is dipping?

If you smoke or just quite before surgery do you have to have these shots. I'm scheduled for feb 28th, and have not heard about this.

I'm booked at the end of feb with a dr from a hospital in tj mexico. is this doctor in a hospital or ? do your research and good luck. There is a lot of info you will get on this site. check it carefully, and good luck

:help:I was planing on using dr kuri in tj Mexico in early jan. I emailed the planet hosiptal which was on an old site though google. anyway they phoned me today "amy" and said he no longer does surgery there and not to go with him. That this is not us certified. does anyone know anything about this, its really upsetting. is this just sour grapes, and a recruiter? any info would be very much appreciated. donna
