  11. Thanks @@Babbs for your messages and encouragement! And I'm doing just that! Just got back from my third walk. I know it'll probably change and I'm still on meds, but at this point I feel good enough to go home! ????
  12. Thank you Kate! I received your virtual hug and return it in abundance. And ditto, you are one of the nicest, funniest people on here. Thank you for your words of support, they mean a lot! Waiting for the doctor to get my first update. I'm still astounded that I haven't eaten anything since Monday, and that was Clear Liquids only, nothing after midnight, and yet I'm not hungry or thirsty. All these things I expected but stiff astounding when it's you. How are you doing at home now?
  13. Thanks guys! Did 4 lap walk and back on top of pain. Only in one area. Definitely gas. So tired though.
  14. Do 2 laps laps night, was doing great, but woke up in pain this am. Had it in my head I could only press pain pump button once every hr not every 15 min so I let it get ahead of me! Waiting for it to come down then will go walking. Thanks guys!
  15. Thank you everyone! I made it through with flying colors! Things went a lot better than I could have ever hoped. The worst pain was in my back and left side incision area. At first the pain pump wasn't strong enough but they adjusted it and it really nipped it in the bud. Feel it slightly when I'm breathing deep, but again, not bad. They'll be helping me with my first walk in about an hour. Very tired, but the experience was a lot easier than I was expecting. I'll answer more in deep in the coming days. Thanks for all the support! ????
  16. Today is FINALLY my day. July 29, 2015, at high noon, I'm having my surgery! Wow, what a head rush and surreal experience, all wrapped into one. It took an entire year, but it has definitely been the most life changing journey I've ever embarked upon. I will never forget the struggle that brought me here, the friends I've made, or the health and happiness I hope to achieve. I chose my screen name, The Candidate, because in all my research the most reoccurring phrase was "You might be a candidate for weight loss surgery if..." Not sure what to identify myself with after surgery. Is "The Post Op" taken? ???? This is "The Candidate" (but not for much longer), signing off, and heading to the hospital. Thank you all, and I'll be seeing you on the other side. ❤️
  17. Congrats, Monique! Welcome! You will find lots of support here. Good luck on your journey!
  18. Good luck everyone!
  19. Congrats @@Gumpgal get some rest!
  20. Welcome Natasha! Good luck on your upcoming surgery and best of wishes for your journey ahead!

  22. Wow! Such an amazing turnaround of your life in one year! You are a testament to us all that this surgery works, if you work with it. And it certainly sounds as though it was worth everything you sacrificed to get here. Congrats!
  23. Sounds like a plan @@himalaya62! I'm in!
