  1. I really love how you spun that tale to encompass the whole having wls surgery experience. Honestly it was beautifully expressed! Congrats on making it to the front of the line. We're all waiting for you on the other side!
  2. You look fantastic! Congrats on an incredible success!
  3. I hope things improve for you soon. My heart goes out to you.
  4. These feelings are normal, almost to the point of being a rite of passage. This will be a dramatic change, of that there's no doubt. But it's a positive change, a life affirming change. I'm six weeks out and I definitely have no regrets. What I gave up in no way compares to the foothold I already have in a healthy, extended life. Take deep breaths and focus on what you'll be able to achieve in the future. Good luck!
  5. I'm never ceased to be amazed at how hard insurance fights us on this issue, especially with all the evidence that it will save them money down the line in extended medical costs. So happy you were able to go the self pay route. For many that's not even an option. Congrats and I sincerely hope your surgery comes soon!
  6. Having researched weight loss surgery for years, reading forums, and going through six months of weekly classes as a pre op, I felt well prepared for every contingency. Yet I'm still shocked, on a daily basis, at just how little I'm able to eat. And even more so at the fact that that little amount of food more than satisfies my hunger. It's wonderful!
  7. Welcome aboard! You will find great support and information here to help you along, as you progress through the process. Best wishes and good luck!
  8. Congrats on all your accomplishments!
  9. Hope things begin to improve for you soon. I'm six weeks out from my rny and I can promise you it does get better.
  10. I'm six weeks out from surgery and I can vividly remember feeling everything you've described. It's perfectly normal, I promise. You'll look back on this one day and feel like all the waiting was nothing but a fuzzy half remembered dream. Good luck!
  11. Do you by chance have a drain? It hurt some when I breathed after surgery too, but once they removed the drain it went away. I was walking the night of surgery. It really helps you heal faster, so take every opportunity. Congratulations!
  12. You've only been deterred, but not derailed. Your day will come soon. Good luck and best wishes. Hope you feel better soon!
  13. Congratulations on your approval! My final clearance consisted of the psychological evaluation, internist clearance, and the surgical consult. Good luck and best wishes!
  14. That is a wonderful accomplishment, especially this early out of the gate. You have a bright shiny and healthy future ahead of you. Congratulations!

  19. I had to wait an entire year. And it felt like it would never end. There were times when I wanted to give up too. But I hung in there and now I'm almost 2 weeks postop. And I can tell you from my experience that all that time spent waiting feels like nothing now. I hope things improve for you soon, and best of luck.
  20. Hope you get your surgery date soon. I know it's hard to wait, but it will be worth it. The time will pass before you know it. Congratulations!
  21. Congratulations on your surgery day. Best of luck and good wishes!
