  1. This person sounds like they need a surgery of their own ...a personality transplant...
  2. If this assclown even has a medical degree he likely printed it himself for any dr to undercut any effort u can make to help yourself is totally rediculous my Drs have told me to do whatever I'm capable of for as long as I can tolerate and to work up to at least 30 mins a day I've lost 180 lbs I'm walking as much as I can as I have vascular and nerve issues but I bike ride as well this person sounds like they are trying to put u down not lift you up I'd walk your ass away from that idiot

    Dumping syndrome with gastric sleeve

This can happen to me if I eat foods too fatty or sweet I've learned to limit this to an occasional couple of bites this is how I got fat in the first place so is not a bad thing to limit the intake I also noticed that it really seemed more severe during the first few months it's a process to get back to normal
  4. You are not required to disclose the type of surgery or reason behind it that is confidential info by law they can"assume" anything they like you do not have to confirm anything nor justify it to anyone you likely will have to have the dr note as to required time off for recovery such as X amount of weeks etc this person sounds exactly like my boss she thinks she has the right to know all your business and I've heard the comments as well about my medical appts being "inconvenient" for them etc etc lol they are trial attorneys I run their home I don't argue the cases in court so how are you being Inconvienced? I had to have a biopsy once to find out if I had thyroid cancer ( I did) and I was told after a dramatic round of huffing and puffing how she was planning on sending me with her at the time young daughter out of town to a horse show ( not part of my job as I'm not the mom or a nanny) so I flipped out and told her it wasn't happening etc Oh the tragedy that will occur if I mop the floor tomm instead of today? Stand up for yourself these ppl will always find reasons why u should wait to do anything for yourself even medical stuff u can't be nice to those kind of ppl they will just use it against u and try to guilt u into accommodating their needs above yours they just don't care about anyone other then themselves

Three days post op having a wobble

Do you u have any cardiac or vascular issues? If you do see your dr right away I had some of this due to preexisting issues I had to start taking potassium and magnesium supplements after surgery
  6. shellyd88

    Psych evaluation required?! Why?

Yes it's my understanding that's it pretty standard it wasn't a big deal they seemed to just want to know that u understand the situation and what commitment you need to make for it to work etc
  7. shellyd88

    Pregnancy testing

Yes they do I was told the under 50 thing too I nearly laughed as I'm 47 those eggs are powdered by now but I was told if I don't do it no surgery so I just said whatever

    Negative Nancy

I totally agree do see your dr tuna may be not for you just yet even if told u can have it tummy won't always agree I know this from experience the first few weeks and months weren't easy nor fun it's a long process at times to get back to eating normal food I was weak as well for 7 weeks I had to force myself to get up and do things if only for a few mins at a time when I went back to work I thought I wouldn't make it as I take care of a very large private home I got lucky in the fact that they happened to be away for 2 weeks and I was able to go at a slower pace but was very tired for months after I'm 15 months out now sleeved I'm biking now something I haven't done since I was 19 I promise it will get better it doesn't seem like it but it will good luck
  9. I try not to respond to these kinds of remarks as I feel u can't explain it to those that never had the problem in the first place or in many cases those who don't wish to change so on the rare occasion that I even respond I say well I'm off meds I can walk bike etc that I couldn't do 200 lbs ago or those that make the easy way out comments I simply say well have the procedure and after you do in a few months we can revisit this conversation and u can tell me what u think is so easy about it... Funny they don't ever have anything more to say... To my face anyway
  10. shellyd88

    I am alone in this

I can't add much to this as I agree with everyone's response don't let unsupportive ppl derail your hard work to this point and beyond to surgery and after you shouldn't need any help after the sleeve is a easy procedure with little pain after you will be nauseas but they will give you meds for that follow your diet and instruction u will be absolutely fine some ppl just like preaching and feeling superior to others don't allow it in your mind if they can't support they need to keep freaking quiet speak up for yourself sometimes we have to be our own cheerleaders and we can't count on others to be there when we need it I've found they ask and expect us to drop everything tho well now u put yourself first and let them figure out how to run their own life and stop trying to run yours
  11. @@deeplue exactly my thoughts .. I've done nothing illegal don't take drugs don't abuse ppl have always had a job always help ppl when they ask etc of course rarely get help when I need it they are too busy but always want me to drop what I'm doing for them had my sister tell me last week how she told ppl who hadn't met me 200 lbs ago how fat I used to be and how shocked they were and I was like why would u even discuss this with ppl who never even met me before why would it even be a topic of discussion? And her answer was oh I guess that's embarrassing for you... No cupcake it was embarrassing to you after all you are the one who told me not to come to your business because of my weight the whole thing just makes me nauseas and want to just not engage with ppl anymore at all or go out I've lost weight and yet it's still a never ending topic
  12. Yes and it makes me mad suddenly I'm worth speaking to or being treated with respect I just passed a year post op and it's still all ppl want to talk about and loudly too about how much I've lost and how wonderful I look seems idiotic I've always been a decent person and now everyone is so " proud" of me what right do they have to be proud or not they had nothing to do with the loss or the gain before that
  13. shellyd88

    Trying not to be angry

There are people in this world who will always find a reason to criticize others about oh just about anything I've found that it's easier just to not engage with those ppl I've wasted enough time getting fat being fat and trying not to be fat anymore no one else's opinion holds any weight with me we don't need anyone's approval or permission to try and get healthier by whatever means works for us for me it was surgery I don't ask or give a rats ass who thinks what about it I've had to take this view as so many ppl can be unbelievably cruel and judge others on things they can't possibly understand which makes me feel like bitch slapping them and quite frankly I enjoy buying new clothes too much to spend it on bail lol
  14. Most surgeons are only good at one thing ... Cutting they leave the rest to their staff I also had severe fatigue for about 6 weeks I could barely shower I was so weak I was shaking begged dr for more time off he refused and told me to suck it up I'm a housekeeper in a mansion I couldn't even imagine getting thru a day I got lucky in that the ppl went away for two weeks as the children had a school break so I was able to go at my own pace and rest and get back into it and by the time they returned I was able to cope it wasn't easy for months I was exhausted at the end of the day be sure to get your bloodwork done so u can be sure u don't have deficiencys eat your protien stay hydrated take your vitamins and get up and move as much as possible

    Food Funeral- mistake !

Oh my sorry u suffered but u better pay attention after surgery u must comply and follow instructions I myself as I'm sure nearly all of us have messed up trust me when I tell u u will learn to stop or u will be in pain for hours it's not pleasant
  16. Ok I'm seriously pissed reading this this woman is holding you hostage she is too " busy" ? Bullshit she is jerking your chain she definitely has negative feelings about the procedure if she is to damn busy to deal with a patient she took on in the first place but has time to go away and hold up your life at her whim it's not her job to judge your choice but only to decide if you understand all that is involved as others have stated in their responses these Drs usually are taking on WLS patients at the request of insurance company's or the surgeons performing the procedures so perhaps she needs to get the hell off the list if she is too damn " busy" to do the job I think she needs to " see " someone
  17. shellyd88

Bra math - don't try this at home.

Omg laughing so hard uhh sorry! I feel your pain I have a drawer full of bras from just the last few months I'll buy a couple a month later too big etc etc trying on is a nightmare too loose or to tight lift arms you fall out can't seem to win I'm like in some in between freak size that doesn't seem to exist in real life
  18. @@MissyMissSkinny hello I hope you have a good experience I'm glad I did it just remember the only opinion that really counts is yours it's your life your decision pay no attention to critics and comments don't let the negative nellys take up space in your mind as long as you have researched and understand the situation and are comfortable with it then you do you no one else is entitled to any explanation as to your reasons or has the right to lecture judge or criticize your decision this kind of situation sometimes means we must be our own cheerleaders and just put one foot in front of the other and keep moving best of luck
  19. shellyd88

    Rude relatives

Hi I'm sorry this happened to you seems ppl feel they can speak to us however they please sometimes you just can't count on family for support but usually they are quick to criticize you have to try to be as strong as you can alone if u must it's your life and your decision not theirs they don't get a vote I had a lot of oh you had surgery comments not that they said much but the tone implied they didn't approve however I'm not ashamed and told anyone who commented I didn't care what they thought so they could just keep their opinions to themselves and if they thought it was so "easy" they should go thru the process have the surgery and when they reach at least 6 months post op we can revisit this discussion and what exactly they think is " easy" about it that shut down that shit show pretty fast...
  20. shellyd88

    Nervous ....

Hey there everyone I mean this in the kindest possible way calm the heck down! It's not true that u can't eat anymore or whatever u like ever again trust me I'm 11 months post op sleeve I can eat whatever I want just not a ton like before it will take awhile to get back to eating normal again but it will happen then your going to have to decide IF your going to eat whatever you want and how that will affect your weight loss etc so pls don't go eating everything in sight as you feel it will be the last time it won't be I promise so don't let that thought take over your life
  21. They don't want you to answer it in writing they will read it and ask you about that will be your opportunity to reply the paperwork is mostly for insurance to cover their butts that they didn't operate on someone who doesn't understand or hasn't tried hence all the previous diet questions etc
  22. I've had that said to me a couple times my response is well when you personally have this procedure and lived with it for a while we can re visit this remark and you can tell me exactly what you think is so easy about it ... No further comment was made ... To my face anyway
  23. shellyd88

  25. Hello the surgeon I went to required a full long list of tests EKG endoscopy X-rays blood work sleep apnea test etc etc according to others I've met who have had a gastric surgery it's all required by the surgeons any issues found do not nessecarily mean u can't have surgery for example I had a severe sleep apnea which I already knew as it was diagnosed 4 years prior to surgery I also have AFib none of this made me ineligible for surgery I think they just want to know if any issues are there that could cause a problem during or after surgery or anesthesia kind of a cover their asses type of thing they don't want to be sued so they want any issues to be controlled ahead of time and to be prepared in the OR which is a good thing if there is a potential for a problem they can prepare for that just in case I know it seems tedious and it is however it's for your own benefit good luck
