@@kimmerzj29 hi I don't know how long it will be it seems to take a long time in between apts I've been on south beach since sept 21 I've lost 19.5 lbs as of the 27 of oct it's boring but so far I guess effective I want to have this over with by the new year however I don't think it will happen there was miscommunication I was told by surgeon office that I'd be contacted re a sleep study and an edg they did contact me for the sleep study but not the edg week went by I finally called to ask why and was told oh no u need to schedule it so when I tried to it was mid oct and I was told they were already scheduling into dec for the edg it was extremely upsetting and the sleep study place rescheduled a couple times now Im being told I must have a mandatory compliance with Cpap with a printout for proof before I can even meet the surgeon which won't be until after the edg and then I have to meet with the np one more time before they will schedule a meeting with the surgeon which will be almost mid dec so I doubt I will get any further along until after Xmass until they think of some other tests I have to have I feel the staff at these places just tell u things to move u along then later u get told something else it always seems there's yet something else to do I've also had a problem with getting all my records I've called each dr multiple times to request they fax stuff the surgeons office asked for I've even gone in person and signed releases and every single time I wait a couple days then I call surgeons office and they say they don't have it I call dr again they say well we faxed it this day this day this time etc and I've been been keeping track I make a note of every time I call the date time and who I talk to something strange is going on that's all I know I just can't wait to be done with all this stuff I hope u are having better luck!

Ok that pisses me off she did that just to make u feel bad. There is no truth to what she said at all I don't blame u for not going back however that's what they want to not see u again I've been told by many diff types of drs that they could not help me or that I'd have to lose weight and come back they treat elderly people the same way they are disgusted by certain kinds of people and would rather not have to deal with them so much for "do no harm" right it's like they can disrespect us and deny us care and it's perfectly acceptable

Jessiquoi sounds like your having what like to call a day from hell hope things improve for u a few short weeks will probably go fast I feel the frustration tho and I sympathize thought I was going in dec but was told yesterday no probly won't even see surgeon until just before or just after Xmass it's so disapointing everything takes so long to get done

Thanks everybody I actually did have two different face masks and the nose kind as well I hated all of them I couldn't get past feeling suffocated while air was being forced in it was a constant state of panic causing me to rip it off the longest I ever left it on was about two hours and I wasn't able to even close my eyes let alone sleep the first time I had the Cpap part at the sleep lab in 2012 they sent me home part way thru I'm sure they were annoyed with me I can't stand anything on my face or neck don't wear scarves necklaces anything like that I dreaded doing it again for weeks this past sat I was supposed to do it again I get there and they say equipment isn't working so now I'm rescheduled for this sat

I find often that doctors much like.... (Coughing here muttering) like my employer lawyers may be book smart but don't have a lick of common sense often blurt things out with out considering that people have worked very hard before and after surgery to get and keep this result this has been said to me too about it being so easy well I say to those jackholes who love chocolate cookies ice cream cream sauces meats and so but don't get fat from eating it get into a program for this procedure have it done then try stuffing your face with all those things u eat everyday but don't gain weight then we can talk about how easy u think it is

The next worst thing is the former smoker/ fat person who belittles & lectures others I think that's not only not helpful but a lot of damn nerve

I tried it in 2012 into 2013 for five months it was awful I hated it got less sleep with it then without if u move it leaks or the hose crunches or comes undone if u need to use the bathroom u have to unhook and readjust everything I felt like I was suffocating every minute it gave me such anxiety I'd lay there for 2 hours and not go to sleep if I want to have this surgery I have to do it and prove a 3 week compliance with a printout or I can't have surgery I'm so pissed I feel like I'm being held hostage in two weeks I missed three days of work because of it was awake so much I literally couldn't fall asleep took it off one night and proceeded to sleep so hard from extreme fatigue caused by not being able to sleep with that contraption on that I fell asleep and slept three hours past my alarm going off waking to my boss yelling on my answering machine where are you? At 10 am ...I never used it again now being told I have to not sure I'll ever get surgery really can't tolerate it

@ I can sympathize was supposed to get sleeved in dec found out today it's not going to happen more then a month ago I called emailed repeatedly and showed up in person to get medical records released and faxed to surgeon in some cases multiple requests for the same thing they say we sent bariatric office says we haven't recieved blah blah no one returns calls then two weeks ago bariatric clinic says yes we have everything today I was supposed to meet with surgeon and I'm told they don't have all the requested items mid sept they say someone will call me me to set up edg and sleep study they did for sleep study I was supposed to do Cpap part this past sat evening I get there they say oh the equipment is not working u have to reschedule I call there all say today every time they call back I'm away from desk phone tag all day so annoying so weeks pass no one calls me for edg I call two weeks ago to ask why then I'm told I must call to set it up and Gosh I was so mad I call to get an appt and they say oh booked up till dec 5 if nothing wrong I won't meet with surgeon till probably after Xmass im so aggravated everything takes so long for the simplest thing u can't get a straight answer from anyone one person says one thing someone's tells a diff story and then they look at u like your the crazy one I feel like I'm just getting jerked around I about wanted to bitch slap people today I have lost 19.5 lbs though not u huge number but maybe not bad for six weeks? Anyone else frustrated with bariatric drs? Ok had to vent .... Sorry

U won't be able to talk the stupid out of people trust me this I know! Save your breath for your recovery and excercise after surgery rather than defending a decision to better your health to people that cannot comprehend what it's like and just want to think that if u ate less move more it would all magically get better most of us need to loose significant weight to be able to begin effective excercise to keep losing and maintain weight loss after the surgery I don't think they be convinced so I refuse to debate those people our time and energy is better spent moving forward to better health

@@flmommyof2 your welcome they will try to say it's all available online if they try to get of of mailing it say your internet access is down /limited no printer /computer I sometimes having trouble printing stuff from secured websites I'm not that computer savvy to figure why lol u get the idea they don't want pay to mail stuff but they have to if u ask so be firm again good luck it took about 3 days for me to receive in the mail

Flmommyof2 hi when u call the insurance company ask them them to either email or snail mail u the written rules/coverage re this procedure they have to if u ask I have bcbs I got a copy in the mail made an extra copy which I have in my file for surgeon don't give the dr office the only copy as things tend to get " lost" or not " filed" this way u have a copy to refer to if they tell u something different and they cannot withhold info from u when u have your own copy good luck

I didn't have to answer a ton of questions on paper like that only about 10 those long questionnaires are similar to what they give correction officers etc they ask lot of same questions and scenarios posed in diff ways they basically want to know u haven't been in a mental institution u never attempted suicide or or currently thinking of suicide that u aren't depressed if u take medications for anxiety or depression this does not by the way disqualify u for surgery they just need to know they ask if u had any childhood trauma etc family history of obesity how much support u have at home They want to be sure that u don't think that magically everything will just be better if u have surgery I was asked what do I do when I'm angry or upset I said the truth lots of yelling.... Lol ....(I gotta work on that)

Try this thank her for the treats u could say thanks so much for the (insert here) items were more than grandson could use so he generously donated the rest too.....? Whoever whatever friends charity etc I know you will be proud of his thoughtful actions.... Perhaps she may take a hint and cut down on handing out junk we can hope right ?when this happens in our home I often will take excess to shelters etc they accept unopened items that are not expired I don't feel guilty for throwing away or not using stuff it goes to ppl that don't have enough/or any

I agree with proudgrammy potatoes carbs beef stew fat packaged foods sodium fat and carbs not good I've seen everybody say drinking too soon before after or during meals washes the food out faster which may be making u hungry are u following the instructions given by the dr?
