  1. I live in Southern Maryland about an hour south of DC in La Plata. The BluePoint surgical group where my surgeon is is in Fairfax Virginia about an hour and 20 minutes from me. I'm having my surgery at Fair Oaks Hospital. Their surgery practice in the hospital both have the Center of Excellence designation. So I feel good about whose hands I've put myself in. You might have already said but where are you from? And hello to the Baltimore poster who just signed on recently. Welcome to the Maryland surgery group

  2. Jrontondella you look great. Congratulations on all your weight loss. My surgery is November 4th and I can't wait for it to get here. Cardiac clearance this Tuesday and then all my testing is done. Already have insurance approval just waiting on my date to get here. Can't wait to be on the losers bench. Keep up the great work you're an inspiration to all of us who have surgery coming up

  3. Hi Shiloh, Kes, Gigi, and mnmlst this is Jenn. Get in touch with my Maryland November surgery buddies. My surgery is November the 4th I start my pre op diet on October 21st. I think I'm eating anything that's not nailed down lol. Luckily I don't have to have another weigh in at the surgeon's office just pre op I think on the day of surgery.....phew. I've definitely gained the seven pounds back that I lost during my 3 months insurance requirement. oh well..... This thing is about to drastically change come the 21st and even more so once I have my surgery on the 4th. I have to have a cardiac stress test and echocardiogram this coming week to get my cardiac clearance. Then Everything will be finished except for the surgery. Can't wait. Let me know how all of you were doing how your tests are progressing how you are doing in these weeks leading up to surgery. Ttyl

  4. Hi Shiloh 0772 how have you been ? Just reading some posts and trying to recontact some people on here who are likely to have surgery in November. I know you said you wanted to Maryland buddy well I'm in Maryland just two and a half hours away. Where are you in your pre op process? Do you already have your surgery date? What testing are you still needing? How are you feeling about it all? Hope to hear from you... Jenn

  5. Hey November surgery buddies how's everyone doing? Trying to keep this thread alive. I think it's a great idea 2 be going through the same things with some other people. Anybody have any posts? I have finished almost everything. My last two things are my cardiac clearance which I have to have a stress test and an echocardiogram next week and I have to have a visit with my PCP the end of this week. Then I'll be completely finished then waiting on my surgery November 4th. Start my pre op diet October 21st. Feeling like I want to have a lot of food funerals before the 21st gets here... I'm going to try not to let it get too out of hand. Ttyl hope I hear from some of you

  6. Hi Beni welcome to the Nova thread. I'm in staying connected with people who use bluepoint Surgical group and how they're progressing before during and after surgery. Dr fitzer is with Blue Point Surgical Group right? Are you having your surgery at Fair Oaks? Must be getting ready to start your pre-op liquid diet soon. Have you felt your experience has been so far with all the pre op stuff the doctor visits the nut visits etc. Stay in touch if you want my surgery is November 4th at fair Oaks

  7. Hello Nov RNYers.....How's everyone doing? Surgery is getting closer... I can't believe how quickly it's coming. Got my blood work and chest xray done for preop. Still have to get an EKG and cardiac clearance because of my age..50. I need my PCP clearance as well. I have both those appt.s coming up in the next 2 weeks. My final surgeon and NUT appt is Oct 8....then it will all be finished except for 2 wk clear liquid diet(it does include Protein shakes). Surgery Nov 4th. Let me know how things are coming along for you guys on this Nov thread

  8. Eclectick.... Hey..... What about me hmmm. I'm getting very excited and a little nervous about the surgery. I had some pre op blood work and chest xray done yesterday and a2 hour appointment with my nutritionist. It's all very surreal now. I can't believe I'm actually moving forward to do this . The surgery doesn't scare me its the post op getting in fluids and Protein and Vitamin supplements that concerns me. But I'm definitely doing it and I'm not looking back. I'm looking forward to all the things I'm going to be able to do with my kids and my husband and hopefully by next Memorial Day I'll be in a bathing suit at the pool and not being self conscious..... And actually getting in the Water to swim with my kids.

  9. hi Becca... Hope you're doing well missed seeing you at the support group meeting. It was pretty good I think I'll go next time too the second Saturday of the month at 10 o'clock in the morning at st. Mary's Hospital the pavilion building where health connections is. How's your process coming along? Have you gotten all your testing done yet ? Felt like a long process what I was going through everything but now that I finished all my testing pre op it seems like it went by quick. I just met with pam yesterday to go over clearance testing which is just pre op stuff. I need to have the blood work and EKG, get a clearance from my primary care , and see a cardiologist for clearance because I'm fifty... So a couple more hoops to jump through. I meet with Maria the nutritionist tomorrow from 2 to 4 to go over all the post-op Dietary Guidelines. I can let you know how it goes just so you know what to expect. Hope you're doing well... Ttyl

  10. hi dee..... Have you gotten your insurance approval yet? I hope so that means you might have a date by now. how have you been? Getting excited about the surgery? I just had my nurse visit yesterday to go over some last minute paperwork requesting a few more tests which is all pre op stuff and then tomorrow I meet with the nutritionist for two hours to go over the Dietary Guidelines for post op so it's definitely becoming more real for me. Its sureal I can't believe it's getting close. I still can't believe I'm going through with it but I am. It's such a big decision. Hope you're doing well just trying to stay in touch with some November RNYers

  11. Hi C power100 I just got my approval two weeks ago and my surgery is November the 4th. From my very first visit to the surgeon's office my BMI was 38 and my ideal weight was 154. So my goal weight is 154 which would probably put me in about a size 8. They never said anything to me about losing just 50 or 65 percent of my weight. So if I make it to 165 I'll be happy cuz thats how much I weighed when I got married and I was a size 10 12 so that's my personal goal
