    Frantic - please help!!!!

Susan, thank you so much for your post. I was reading through the forum last night and saw that sometimes the band did resolve itself. My doctor did a complete unfill yesterday and I can drink fluids without a problem. I called and left a message this morning at his office to ask about staying on liquids and waiting 2 weeks. This would help me tremendously. It would give the surgery I had on Aug 1st time to heal more and I may even be Blessed enough to avoid another surgery. I'm waiting for a call back from the office. Again, thank you.
  5. Hi I haven't posted in awhile but I need you guys help please. I was banded in Nov. 2007, I've lost almost 60lbs, I'm pretty much at goal. Over the last several weeks I'd noticed the band becoming tighter and tighter. I had major surgery 4 weeks ago, so I put the band on the backburner. Today I went in for an unfill and they said the band had slipped!! My doctor wanted to revision surgery tomorrow. I was and am in hysterics. First and foremost, I was self pay and in no way can afford to pay for additional surgery. Now they did say that my insurance "should" cover this emergency surgery. I am still not healed from my surgery on Aug. 1st and it was horrible. My surgeon did call me back and say it was ok t ohave the band repaired. This is my dilemma. Should I just have the band removed? I know I will gain every pound back but I'm afraid of this happening again and if my insurance decides not to pay we are sunk financially. How hard will this revision surgery be. Having the band placed was ruff, I don't want to go through that again. My doctor stated he just needed to go in and reposition it and stitch it back down "most likely" or he may have to replace it. Anyone with insight on this please post. I am crying as I write this, I'm trying to calm down. Ironically, today I told my husband, was the first day that I've woken up pain-free since my surgery on Aug. 1st. Now this:cry_smile:

    Port Infection, HELP..

Hello everyone, are these infections following fills. I wonder how many port infections are caused by the doctors not using meticulous aseptic technique while doing fills.

    Quick Question

I'm scheduled to have my 2nd fill today. I was supposed to be on clear liquids but ate a piece of cake at lunch:redface: Should I call and reschedule the fill or will it be ok. It will have been 4 hrs. since I've had the cake. Thanks guys. I know that was a dumb thing to do.

    Crud - I swallowed a piece of gum :-(

If worst comes to worst the gum can be removed by having an EGD. That's and endoscopic procedure where they put a scope down your throat and they are able to visualize the gum they can just grab it with a forcep and remove it. Hope you don't have to have that but in any case it's a simple procedure. Good luck!

    Lower BMI'ers--2008!!!

Hello All, I was banded on Nov.9 and so far have lost 16lbs. I got my first fill on Dec. 11 and at first I had great restriction. Now I have none. I'm starving and eating wayyyyy too much. I'm afraid to get on the scale because i know I've gained. I'm calling tomorrow to schedule my 2nd fill. Oh geez this lapband is my last hope. What if it fails or I fail it?:think
  13. I had my first fill on Dec. 11. I had great restriction initially and lost 6 lbs. that week. I now have absolutely no restriction. I'm hungry as heck and eating way too much. I'm afraid to get on the scale because I know i've gained. I'm calling tomorrow to schedule a 2nd fill. Good grief, I'm really feeling bummed out today. If this lapband doesn't work, that means I'm doomed to be fat forever.:think

    Pill Agony!!!!!

Thanks guys, I drank pineapple juice and warm water. It finally went through. Geesh that was not fun:sick
  15. I started an antibiotic today and it got STUCK!!! I thought the capsule was small enough to go through but I was soooo wrong. Anyone have any tips on how to help it pass? I've tried raising my arms and sipping a lil pineapple juice but so far nothing. I obviously can't take those so I'll have to call my doc for something else.:help::help:
