  1. Sounds like a dream, sigh.
  2. Mega prayers to you both !!!
  3. Hi Everyone, Thanks for letting me ask a bunch of questions. How are you handling / dealing with head hunger since you've had the surgery? Is it even an issue now ? NJChick
  4. Hi Everyone, I am also in the midst of researching lapband. I have those little people sitting on each shoulder. One saying go for the lapband, you can not do this on your own and on the other shoulder is you can lose weight on your own, just fill up on veggies and eat sensible. Then there's me in the middle saying, I'm scared to death to have the surgery and I'm scared to death not to. I am very torn but I know with each passing day I am not losing on my own I told DH that I need to research this until I know it like the back of my hand. He is so supportive and tells me to be 100% sure I want it (I'll settle with 80% lol). But right now I'm not comfortable with anything, I guess because its so overwhelming. See my avitar, thats me pacing like a looney lol. Thank you all so much for this thread, its really what I needed to see. NJChick
  5. Is there a list of foods to avoid or to kinda watch for newbies? If not, can we make one ? Thank you !!!

    Mousecrazy GOOD LUCK TOMORROW !!!!!
  7. When I was following Atkins 2 years ago (yes lost weight but gained it back, sigh) anyway, for a snack I would microwave turkey pepperoni until it got crispy, talk about fast and it was yummy. Lower in fat and calories compaired to regular pepperoni.
  8. Ira you'll be in my prayers tomorrow!!! for a safe, speedy recovery. Please let us know how it all went. I had my daughter in Hackensack 4 years ago and I also had a D&C (miscarriage) out patient procedure there. Both times the experience was great. I know you'll be in good hands there (thats why I want to go there for the procedure) I just looked at the list of insurances that doctor takes and mine is not one of them. I'm sure there are others in the area. Its just going to take some investigating. Thanks Everyone !!!

What a jerk ! Maryann, I have a feeling that this is not about your weight, I have a feeling that she is very jealous of you for some reason. Maybe you are smarter, prettier, friendlier and she is envious. Please don't let that little snot get to you. You sound like such a wonderful person. Hugs and Kisses !!!!
  10. Thank you !
  11. Hi Everyone, I am brandy new here and would really appreciate some help. I am seriously thinking of lapband surgery. I've been over weight my entire life and its not getting any better. I'm 40 (41 in august) and I have arthritis, bone spurs in my spine as well as DDDisease in my spine. In short my back, knees are always hurting. Year after year this extra weight is not helping I know. I am very ready emotionally to have the procedure its just that I don't know enough about it and I want to learn as much as possible before I do it (scared yes, but more scared not to). The hospital I would most likely go to b/c of my insurance is Hackensack. Do you recommend any doctors from Hackensack? How long did you have to stay in the hospital? How long did the procedure take? Thank you so much for your help !!! NJChick
