  1. She should be fine then. It's just going to take tinkering with it now to hit that sweet spot. In some rare cases they have put the max in the band. If she has had to have some unfill before i think she is very close. Now that they have ruled out any issues with the band it really is time to look more closely as to what, where, when and how much she eats. If she is getting in all her liquids etc. This might just be what she needed time will tell though.
  2. Hi Valerie! Welcome to LBT You will love it here. You already have the band so you're doing good. You should go to the main forums page and find the March 2009 Bandster thread and join in with them too. They will surely be able to help you along as well since they just had surgery in the same month
  3. Thanks Mom for returning to update. I was very curious. I am very glad to hear the band is in the right place and all is well. that's great they took the time to explain to her and reassure her of the steps that it takes to make this weightloss sucessful. They use man different size bands on people and they usually don't know which size they are going to use till they go into surgery and see which one would fit better. I have a 4cc band. I have 2.75 CC in it. Did you say she had a 10cc band? They have I believe 4,10,14 cc. The amount of fluid in them is very different for everyone. I have even heard of some people only having 1 fill or 20 fills. I think that's why it's called the sweet spot... you just have to find it.
  4. Aww I couldn't be a vet... I wouldn't wanna even give them a shot let alone have to do other bad things :crying: Makes me sad.
  5. Thats hillarious. I would love that. My DH and I love to embarass the kids.. It's like our goal in life. Since we're really young to have teenagers it makes it that much better.... So my daughter has music all the time going in her room. Sometimes we just bust into her room and just bust out into a dance to her music for a minute or 2 then run out. She normally just stares at us like were insane. It's funny though cause then you hear her tell her friends about the weird things we do... so I think she likes it. Oh then theres the part when my DH drops her off at highschool, he opens the sunroof , stands up hanging out of it screaming BYE BRITTANY.... She goes to a large school and everyone stares lol

  10. Southpark episode on Youtube while composing an email to rip a coworker a new one
  11. Thanks! I feel like a totally different person.
  12. My doc just says you might want to have liquids the day of the unfill in case there is swelling. All the docs are different though.
  13. Air Supply- Greatest hits ROFL :cursing:
  14. Congrats on the approval. I will cross my fingers that they get you in asap
  15. Once I had the surgery I kept it just within my very close knit family... But then as I began to lose the weight I started my blog and posting online and when people ask how I lost it ... I say portion control and exercise... with the help of the Lapband. I haven't had one negative comment yet.... Which has suprised me. Good luck!
  16. Pros loss of weight eating less able to function better IE active with family more energy less medications greater health and longer life. Better sex life Cons risk of slippage erosion infection For me the pros outweighed the cons. The bandster hell previously mentioned doesn't happen to everyone. I didn't have it. Some doctors don't even make you wait 6 weeks for a fill... I haven't felt a hunger pang since I had my Lb surgery 4/23/08. To this day I eat when the clock says to eat. Everyones experience is very different. I would read more on the forums and attend local meetings/seminars with the doctor you're considering.
  17. Your post isn't quite a book since it still left me with questions  I am not a doctor but I personally think the lapband works better for those that are Volume eaters. Since this causes restriction (after fills) Then you will have to learn how to curb the previous behavior or addiction. I myself was a volume eater so maybe that is why I assume it works. Alot assume this could be the easy way out.. It is not. Having any WLS is a roller coaster of emotions... You will have to concentrate more on the liquids you take in, eliminating beverages with calories, eating Proteins first, eating much smaller amounts, eating very slowly and taking small bites. There's still exercise involved. I think all of this outweighs the health risks involved with obesity. I had my surger at 32... if I could of done it at 25 or would of thought to have done it at 25 I would of. I don't regret a single second of it.
  18. Hello and Welcome to LBT!
  19. My DH can't believe that I post so much about myself online at LBT,FB, and my blog. 5 minutes later I turn around and he has made like 10 posts on Car forums, gun forums, and electronic forums. Those don't count tho.
  20. Maroon 5 - The live version on shuffle.
  21. Good Luck! I have never had a flouro fill. I would like to sometime it would be neat to see.
  22. Her appt is today right? Let us know how it goes :tt1:
  23. We know each others financial history and we own a house and cars etc. That's the only debt though... He pays the credit cards off each month. I just wouldn't know who to contact for life insurance, retirements, monthly bills etc. I know the bank he uses... Maybe I should see if he put the info in his will. Bad time to tell him I am leaving my 1/2 to my Bull dog :tt1:
  24. Yes you can still take Birth Control Pills. Weightloss can increase your chance of pregnancy so I would strongly recommend it lol.
