  1. as weird as it sounds....be sure you're eating ENOUGH calories. If you're burning too many, you're body will go into starvation mode. Don't overdo it! Plateus never last....they can last up to a year though, so just be patient. It will pass. Good luck, and when I hit mine (which is soon I'm sure!), you can help me. :rolleyes2:

  2. My husband and I went to TGI Friday's for lunch today...and not only did I eat something healthy (chicken and broccoli, and only ate ONE piece of chicken and brought the other one home for dinner) but I resisted having a bite of dessert my husband ordered. Yea, I feel good. Also, I did 35 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of weight training bright and early this morning! Good band day! :rolleyes2:

  3. Well, it sounds like you still have 2 more cc's left until your full. You might need those last 2 to get restriction...the smallest amounts can make all the difference in the world. So go ahead and get a fill, and see what happens. You have lost weight, so that's great! Good for you!

  4. I weighed in a couple days ago at my surgeon's office. I have lost 90.5 now! And I finally hit Onederland! I started at 285 and now I'm 194! Starting size was 26/28 pants, and now I'm in a 16, and yesterday fit into a size 14! I don't have too much more to go! Yea! I hope to be down 100lbs by the end of the year...wish me luck!

  5. First of all, congrats on your success so far, and that you made the decision to be banded in the first place!

Second, ONE bad day is not "bad". Everyone has them! You're still human even with your band! You will still have moments of weakness, and that's ok! Enjoy them....(just not often!) :tongue2:

And third....if you think you need a fill, go get one! Thats the beauty of the band! It's adjusted to you! If you think you can eat too much, get that fill! It's worth it! With the band and a little willpower, you will reach your weight loss goals! IM me anytime on here...I check this site everyday!

ps....If you read my latest post, I just jumped back on the wagon from a month long "food vacation", but I didn't gain anything! It happens, but we can't be perfect all the time....how boring we would be! Good luck!

  6. I just want to shout from the rooftops that I am finally back on track...I went a month or so where i wasn't listening to my band and not "doing" my band right, but now I'm back! It's been a week now, and I'm eating healthy again, listening to my band, stopping when I'm satisfied, and exercising! Yea me!

  7. So..... my willpower is gone. I'm not listening to my band at all....I keep making the stupid decision to "eat beyond my band" and we all know what that means! I've fallen off the wagon, and now its a mile ahead of me! I hate this feeling! I was hoping to never feel this way again after the band! How do I get back to my original motivation of actually listening to my band and eating what I'm supposed to? I need help! Thank you!

  8. i don't want to eat! i mean, i do, but i'm not...really. this past week or so, i have had a scrambled egg or two and thats it all day....im wanting to make bad food choices, so it just seems easier to stop eating almost completely. is this going to harm me do u think? will it stall my weight loss? thanks for ur input!

  9. Ok, here we go! My story is the typical story I suppose. I was born fat, stayed fat all through childhood, and then into adulthood. When I was a freshman in high school, I was just shy of 300 lbs! I always just used the excuse that I was "big boned"! Thats how my family and I explained it away. My weight held me back from a lot. I was very shy and hated to be "in the spotlight" everywhere I went. One of my worst childhood memories was being at an amusement park and being denied entry into a ride because I exceeded the weight limit! I was crushed, and I will never forget that day. Well, about a year ago, my mom mentioned the lap band procedure to me. At first, I said "no way" but then it got me thinking. My mom explained her concerns for my health, and that each passing year, I just got bigger and bigger. I looked into it, and then a year later, I was approved! I am right smack in the middle of my journey right now....half way done! I have lost 77 lbs so far, and I have about 50 or 60 more to go. I love the band and I feel better knowing that I have this "tool" for life. It makes me feel empowered. I don't consider myself a success story just yet, but felt I needed to share my personal story. =)
