  1. Congratulations!!! I love my band and so will you.
  2. There is no reason to be ashamed. It took alot of courage for you to get back on track. You did it before and you can do it again. We are here for you. (((Hugs))). God Bless.
  3. Idget, I went from one sister company to another. Both have UHC but they had different plan coverages. It depends on the plan your employer has requested. If you can get the insurance handbook, it will state whether there are any stipulations on what can and can't be changed. Next to the section for weight loss surgery it will say what reasons the surgery "may" be covered. Or it will say 'not covered even for medical reasons". Good Luck!
  4. I still drink liquor (on weekends only and when I feel like it) and smoke.
  5. Great reminder!~Today I will drink water, water , water.
  6. I would put a restraining order against her. Who knows what she will do next.
  7. Thank you Georgia girl. I'm having this for lunch tomorrow.
  8. Hi Hip, I too finally felt restriction after my 4th fill. I love it! Of course what freaked me out was that my restriction was ok from the day I had the fill. Then within 4 weeks, I felt more restriction. WOW!!!! I have lost 11 lbs in 36 days. I love my band!!! Congradulations on your weight loss. Great job!!!
  9. You need to keep in mind that this journey wasn't going to be easy. I also felt like you all did and I'm glad I followed the rules and waited to eat what I could so that my band would continue to work with me. It's a tool and you will learn how to work it soon enough! Hang in there. Good luck!
  10. Don't cry Jacole1820, We have felt what you are feeling now. Congratulations on your scheduled surgery date. Hang in there. We are all here for you. Let us know how you are doing. Take care!
  11. Congratulations Bid-D. I too, had Dr. Hamn as my surgeon. I think he is wonderful!
  12. Thank you for the words of encouragement IndioGirl55. We do need to keep in mind that the band is just a tool. I for one am glad that I have learned to eat healthy as well as excercise. I now have alot more energy and am ready to try different levels of excercise. I finally went and bought some new clothes. WOW, I have got to admit, for the first time in a long time I liked what I saw in the mirror. I have to keep telling myself that I can do it and I will do it. I will not let myself down again. I hope everyone has a wonderful day! Hang in there!
  13. Congratulations!!!!
  14. Hey Bid-D, Congradulations! I hope all is going well. I too had my surgery in Plano by Dr. Hamn. You will do great. Hang in there.
  15. I had sleep apnea even before thinking about the band. It is not BS. It saved my life. There are worse things in life we put up with besides being all hooked up.
  16. I have sleep apnea. Had it not been for my family dr who recommended I have the sleep study done, I never would have known. I have been using the CPAP machine now for 2 1/2 yrs and it has saved my life. Be thankful that the Pulmonary Dr is looking out for you.
  17. Same for me. Good post. It will serve as a reminder what I'm striving for. Thanks.
  18. Admirino, Hang in there. Stay with the post-op diet. Even though you aren't losing pounds, you are probably losing inches which is just as important. Things will get better.
  19. Glad to hear you are doing better. Thanks for the info.
  20. First of all, ISLAM is a religion. A Muslim is one who adheres to ISLAM. We worship the same GOD of Abraham, Moses, Jesus, as well as all the other prophets sent by GOD. I can take a joke, but it did offend me, as I am a Muslim. I would never kidding around or jokingly say anything offensive about any religion. Have a nice day!!
  21. Thinking of you and your family! God Bless!
  22. I have cooked with whole wheat pasta since I was able to eat solids. It cooks the same. Depending on which brand you buy, the textures are different. Of course, chew, chew, chew. I love it! I even love the brown rice.
  23. It's your own personal choice. Some prefer the scale, others don't. Don't stress over it.
