    Summer Treats

I have a terrible sweet tooth. O just had to find healthy sweet treats for me. I like my pineapple and coconut sorbet. I use frozen pineapples and add it to greek yogurt with some unsweetened coconut flakes, raw honey and sometimes vanilla. I put it in my Nutribullet and place in the freezer for a few. It's very good. I also freeze bananas and add some liquid and blend. That is my banana ice cream.

    African American vsgers!

If you looking to lose pre op, I would say to cut back on your carbs,do proteins and veggies and exercise.Ween yourself off of caloric drinks and junk foods. You will notice a difference. As far as post op,it is basically the same down the road. Like one mentioned before, eat your proteins first, sip lots of water, eat your veggies if you ccan and walk as soon as you are cleared to. Do not drink 30-45 minutes after you eat. I personally wait until 1 hour because I am usually still full. Make sure to sip sip sip to hopefully prevent dehydration.I come to realize that this sleeve is a tool,a jumpstart to a new beginning. Ypur journey is your own and it will not be the same as others.Do not let that deter you and don't don't be a slave to the scale. IT WILL KILL YOU! The non scale victories are awesome and you will see inches lost before you will see that scale move sometimes.

    Natural Peanut Butter

Can you get the reduced fat peanut? I for one love peanut butter and I get the regular one. I just make sure to do the serving size. I love peanut butter so much that my hubby hates the smell of it now, lol.

    Chia seeds

I saw recipes for chia seed puddings. The person that posted the recipe did not like the texture and just blended everything to make a creamy chocolate pudding.
  8. @@robga999 Thx for sharing this. I never saw a low carb pizza crust with ground chicken added to it. I will definitely have to try this one soon. Cauliflower pizza crust is awesome as well. Later Losers!

@@Sas322 You are doing awesome over there! You are 219 now and was sleeved 3 days after me. My surgery weight was 286 so I say you are doing awesome. I am not close to 219 that's for sure. Acutally, I have no idea what my weight is. I will check in with my sleeve team in February so i am busting my butt now and hopefully be in the 220's. Like you said, everyone's journey is different. Keep up the good work over there! Later Losers!

@@Miaoreo I have it and hate it. I still have some ways to go so hopefully it will continue to go down. Eveything else is fine. I saw on another post some time back that the bell is the LAST to go.
  11. I choose the Sleeve because: 1. I didn't want to reroute anything. 2. It was advised that it was best because I didn't have a lot of weight to lose. 3. I was afraid of the complications and the dumping of the RNY.
  12. I am 5 months post op and I do not eat low fat foods. I do eat healthy. I use raw honey if I want something sweet. I do use 1% milk and canned unsweetened coconut milk for my pineapple smoothies. If I want grains I will have oatmeal, quinoa,or bulgar instead of rice and pasta. But I will make the protein my top priority.I stay within the serving size which I usually can not do anyway, smile.
  13. Super NSV. My hubby bought me some XL lounge pants and I can fit them, YAY! I went from a 3X to XL! I am down 50 pounds and feel awesome. I haven't worn an XL since my mother gave birth to me lol. I am so happy happy happy with my sleeve!

  14. OMGoodness! This is hard for me. I usually eat fast when it is past my eating time. So, I try to eat every 2 hours even if it is a hand full of chickpeas. But it is still hard. Grammy gave some good advice. I try to place my fork down and then chew chew chew. What I do sometimes I will read while I eat and it helps me to slow down. I introduced salad greens back into my diet the other day and ate too fast. It hurt really bad. I didn't take my time and chew properly

@@ayscott74 I am doing well over here. The inches are coming off and I can not totally believe that I can wear some XL tops and bottoms, YAY! I still have like 68 pounds to go but i am trying to my best to go in the right direction. I also started doing weights and more strength training too. I still don't do the scale and my next weigh in is Feb 16th. That definitely encourages me to keep going. How are you? Later Losers!
  16. I use EAS vanilla and choclate. With the chocolate I recently added mint extract to it and it was the bomb. The vanilla, I love to add unsweetened coconut flakes, pinapples, water(EAS is very thick to me) and about 1 cup of coconut milk. Blend it in my Nutribullet and it is awesome. Sometimes I would place it in the freezer for a while for a nice little cold treat.

    Nuts/trailmix

I love trail mix and nuts. That is why I do not bring them into the house. I am almost 5 months out and just started eating nuts last month. I do love flavored roasted chickpeas. I usually add some raisins to them. I measure 1/4 cup and it satifies me.

    Mirena and Gastric Sleeve

I was thinking about Mirena as well. I am currently taking Camilla which is only one pill. I didn't want the Mirena because of the hormones and HBP. I don't notice any stalls because I choose to stay away from the scales. But, I am not preggers, lol.

    whole Wheat Bowls

I am interested in recipes from vets dealing with whole wheat bowls. I want to try wheat berries, bulgur and I wanted to switch from old fashioned oats to steel cut oats. I had quinoa before and I really like that. Can you please share your healthy wheat bowl recipes. Thanks.
