  1. So I'm just over two weeks now with my sleeve and I had the lap band for 7 years and I was wondering if someone can tell me the differences? I saw someone post something about "foamies" and don't know what that is. I know with band what too much food felt like and what stuck felt like. With the sleeve does too much food also feel like food stuffed up to your chest? Is there a pain? When people say food comes up is it like a pop like with the band or slow? I'm burping a lot right now as I drink my shakes and Water, is that a sign I'm going to fast or normal as I heal and does it go away? Sorry for so many questions and I have more. I went through all the programs but hearing it from a group of people who know first hand makes me feel like I'm not alone. i have my check in with the doctor tomorrow and will be following up with her also. I'm hoping to understand how with this surgery your body communicates with you versus how my band did.
  2. My Doctor mentioned that due converting from a lapband that my stomach would not be as small as a normal persons surgery. I'm worried because I have no resistance. I can drink all my shakes and Water with no problem. I have no issue with yogurt or popsicles. Does that mean it failed or will I not know until I have solids.
  3. Thanks everyone! This helps. I think I'm struggling with a few problems the first being my head and the second is I don't feel different I feel great. I've had no problem getting in my water or shakes. My dr said since I lived with a lapband for seven years I'm already trained to drink slower. I'm going to keep reading everyone's experiences to find comfort and support. Thanks.
  4. So it's not even been two weeks since my surgery and I'm sneaking in food!!!! My doctor wants me to only be on Protein shakes and sugar free popcycles and she tells me I can really hurt myself if I eat but for some reason I don't believe her. I'm wondering if it's because I am a lapband convert and after having a constant battle wiht that for 7 years I feel like I can get around it. What is wrong with me. Why am I not hungry like the other people here and why am I licking doritos! I'm really scared that this surgery didn't work for me because I don't feel like everyone else does. What is the secret? Tell me what I need to do to be better and not hurt myself.
