I went into surgery as 330 and today (2 weeks since surgery) I weighed in at 301.4. I can't wait to get into the 200's because it had been about 3 years since I have been!!

I fly to Mexico tomorrow morning and my surgery is Sunday. I am super excited but just wanting to get through the next day of travel on liquids.
-
I plan on buying myself a lovely piece of jewellery

The same here, I attempted to get the surgery locally and the wait was over 2 years with several hoops to jump through.
Every hoop is another doctors appointment, days I have to book off from work.... Days I can't afford to take and they could still decline me...
I am booked in Mexico 2 months after I made the decision.
I had my family doctor sign the documents for Alberta health to reimburse a portion of the surgery and I will claim the remaining on my taxes. (For a total of $4,500.00 returned to me)..
What form is needed from you GP to have your surgery covered by AHC? I'm going to Mexico because I don't want to wait but I am definitely a viable candidate for the surgery. A reimbursement would be nice...

You will do great, ItsJessica!!
I felt the same way. But once I started seeing the lbs drop (5 and Im on day 5) it made it a little easier. Im scared of the liquid phase and traveling with my husband and only liquids to sustain me (Im Oct 5th!)
October 6th and I completely feel the same about the "food funeral" I really don't feel strong enough for this 2 week post op diet

I'm off to Mexico tomorrow. This pre op diet worked magic for me - I'm down almost 11 lbs already. Today is going to be hard for the all clear liquid diet - I'm going to work armed with massive amounts of jello!
Surgery is on Saturday!
Good luck!! Cant wait to hear about your experience. I leave next Saturday, sleeved on Sunday!!

I'm Oct 5th in Mexico. Started the pro op diet today!!

Wow it makes me a little nervous for my car on the 5th but at least I now know what to expect.
How are you doing now that your home, Codys Mom?

My surgery is scheduled for
oct 5 at Mi hospital with Dr Elias Ortiz. I've spoken with numerous people who have used my surgeon and totally recommend him. I'm paying $4900 (high BMI)

Hey everyone. Hope you are all recovered! We (my husband and I) booked our flights today but I'm wondering how far the Marriott is from Mi hospital? I don't think my hubs will be happy staying in the hospital with me but I do want him close.

I'm scheduled for Oct 5 in Mexico. I cannot wait but I'm also a little scared! The post diet is what makes me nervous!

Hi ladies: I am also from Calgary. Having my surgery on Oct. 6th in Tiquana. I would like to be part of a support group here. Please include me. Joan
I'm having my surgery Oct 5th!! 41 days away!

I'm self-pay in Mexico to and I scheduled mine for as soon as I could logistically swing it, between getting my pre and post-op supplies, arranging for time off work, and getting the money together. I booked my surgery on July 28th for Sept. 1, so just 5 weeks out. But even just waiting the 5 weeks is making me crazy!
That's awesome!! I'm hesitant to book it at the beginning of sept because of a wedding but I'm
Thinking the following week!
Who is your surgeon?

My date is Oct 5th

I am the exact same way! I've been looking at people on Instagram that have had success that even my husband is tired of "look babe! Look how amazing she's done!" "That's all I'll be able to eat" "that's her stomach!!" My surgery isn't until Oct 19 but I think about moving it up every day since I'm doing self pay in Mexico. Would you move yours to sooner if you could?

Hi! So I have scheduled my sleeve surgery for October 2014 at the OCC with Dr. Ortiz! I'm excited and really nervous! I want to make sure I come prepared.. So, what did you bring with you to Mexico? Anything you wish you'd taken? Anything not to take (I tend to be an over-packer)?
My surgery is in Oct too. What day is yours booked for?

I'm having my surgery with Dr Ortez on Oct 19/14. I can't wait!!
How is everyone doing after their surgeries?
CROSSING THE BORDER
in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

The company I had my surgery with picked me up at the airport in San Diego. We drove right across the boarder with no issues and no stops. When you cross the boarder back into the states, that's when they check our passports but didn't look through all our luggage. Maybe because the company I went with has a medical transport card?
