  1. All went well! I am glad to be home. I am alittle sore, but that is too expected!
  2. Well I had my surgery Friday morning and am now home. Sore but the pain is bearable. Now the journey truly begins! Thanks to everyone who had been keeping me in their thoughts and prayers.
  3. Dakotacare accepted the claim or whatever. I am ON for surgery tomorrow morning!!! YEAH!! Dakotacare said I would have out of pocket cost of around $1750.00...but heck that is ALOT better than $25,000! Thanks for all the well wishes and PLEASE keep me in your thoughts and prayers tomorrow morning! GOD IS SO VERY GOOD!
  4. Congrats to both of you! I can't wait to be by your sides!
  5. Thanks Corinne. I am still waiting patiently to hear back. I wish they would just call and give me the GOOD news!
  6. Thanks! Thats what I was thinking too. Whats the sense of having two good insurance companies if neither are going to pay? I can see Wellmark won't pay because they do not cover the Adjustable Lap Band, but I feel Dakotacare said they would cover it and they shouldn't back out. JMO
  7. Okay so here's the story. I am scheduled for surgery tomorrow morning at 8am. My surgeons office calls me yesterday evening around 5pm at work and tells me they have the wrong insurance listed for my Primary. I have Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield and Dakotacare. Wellmark is my primary. Dakotacare agreed to cover the lap band procedure no argument. Well now the surgeon's office tells me that Wellmark denied the claim or whatever and now Dakotacare may not cover either because they(Dakotacare) is my secondary insurance! Dakotacare may refuse to cover because my Wellmark refused to cover the procedure. The surgeon's office is waiting on a call back from Dakotacare to see what they say. I may have to put my surgery on hold or cancel all together! You would think with two insurance companies covering me there wouldn't be an argument! I also have a letter from Dakotacare stating they will cover the cost of the surgery and my hospital stay. I dont see where the big beef is. I have met my deductables, did the testing and everything, I think Dakotacare should pick up the bill. What are your thoughts? Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers! God knows I really want this and NEED this procedure!
  8. Thanks for the tip! I will have to get me one of those!
  9. I would go get a pedicare/manicure and let the little guy tag along. Halloween is my gig too! LOVE IT! www.collectionsetc.com has some neat Halloween decor and other stuff besides! Also some fun stuff to do with your son. Get out the shaving cream and let him paint with it or sugar free pudding! It is messy but it is fun! Go on a rock hunt and find some cool rocks...then spray paint them gold and hide them in the yard for your son to find! Just some ideas.
  10. Best of luck to you! See you on the skinny side!
  11. I just wanted to bump this one up! Boy will I be glad when it is done and over with!
  12. My highest weight was 327 on a 5' 2" frame. That was September 2004. I dropped 24 lbs and have kept it off. I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and switched from Regular to Diet pop and started consuming Splenda instead of Sugar and alot low cal/low carb stuff. I just weighed myself the other day and have lost an additional 6 lbs on the liquid protein/protein bar diet. I am having surgery this Friday. Oh life is only going to get sweeter! (I also try to walk around the block at a high pace atleast once a day.)
  13. YOU GO GIRL!!! I can't wait for moments like that!
  14. It was hot here on Saturday 109* high with a heat index of 113*. When I opened our back door at 6pm Saturday night it felt like I was opening an oven door! Thank Goodness we have central air. Then the weather cooled off Monday night and yesterday was only around 70* and rather cool. But we are suppose to warm up for the rest of the week! UGH! I hope my hospital room is cool!
  15. I am getting banded at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital, Mitchell SD by Dr. Reynolds and Dr. Haley will be assisting as needed.
  16. Welcome to the club. I can't answer your questions, I don't get banded until this Friday July 29th! I just wanted to say Hi and welcome you!
  17. Welcome to the club. It is nice to have you here!
  18. Congratulations to you! Hubby and I hope to have children in the near future! This just gives us more hope!
  19. My fantasy is to have all the men, boys or plain ol guys that never gave me a second look in one room. Then an announcer lets them know that a very beautiful lady wants to tell them hello. I walk in and let them try to figure out who the heck I am. I also have a true life goal to go back to my highschool reunion and show off my new self. Ever since I was about 3 I have been heavy and highschool I wouldv'e been considered obese. I want to walk into my 20th reunion and say to all the ex-cheerleaders, jocks and cool people, "Hey all you old FAT people, LOOK at me now! How do you like me now?"
  20. Love the photos! Thanks for sharing!
  21. Oh dear I know what you are saying. I am being banded July 29th. I have been doing the liquid diet since a week ago Friday. It is tough, but trust me we will get through it! It will be worth it in the end!
  22. Sick Bastard! I would like to feed that man to the hogs! How can people be so cruel?
  23. I am scheduled for Friday July 29th! I have cried, laughed, bite all my fingernails to nubs and am nervous, scared and excited all in one. I know exactly what you are going through. Just keep telling yourself, this is just one of life's journeys and at the end it will be well spent! Think Thin!
  24. DITTO HERE! He is very fortunate to have a friend like you!
  25. Glad to hear everything went. I have until next Friday! Getting excited, anxious, nervous and a wealth of emotions.
