  2. I am 6 weeks post op.i didnt gain weight but i didnt lose for almost 2 weeks. it really had me upset. you hear of so many people whose weight melted off i couldnt understand why it wasnt the same for me. but finally yesterday the scale moved and today another pound down! i try not to weigh myself everyday it puts too much pressure. As long as we stick to what we are supposed to do i truly believe that we will be a success!! good luck!
  3. the growling hunger pains could be gas disguised as hunger. i get them sometimes and i take gas x and the empty stomach growl goes away
  4. thursday will be one month post op for me and i have lost 26lbs post op, and 10lbs on pre op diet. the past week the scale hasnt really moved but thats okay! im not worried
  5. i felt the same way, when i was on liquids/puree i felt like i could take in more than i should. i would feel a wierd hunger pain but i took gas x and my antacid and it went away. i was worried that the surgery didnt go right or i had ruined my sleeve somehow. now im on soft foods and man i now when to stop eating lol.
  6. thanks for all the advice. i did go get it checked out and i had blood clots in both of my lungs. i spent a week in the hospital again.there is a good chance this had nothing to do with my surgery but is actually from the accident i was in a week after. i got to come home today and i still get alil winded walking around but i think its getting better. i have to be on blood thinner for a few months. i have still lost weight last week even sitting in hospital all day which is good! now i have to get back on routine with my proper diet.
  7. i was sleeved on aug 25th and the got into an accident on sept 6th where i had to hard a breathing tube and was unconscious for 2 days . after awake i spent another 3 days in hospital bed. i have been home for one day and now have a radiating pain in calf. i dnt want to be a nervous nelly and run to the er every time i have a booboo but im concerned of blot clot. or maybe just a pain after accident??
  8. I was sleeved on 8/25. I had my first post op appt with the surgeon yesterday. everything is healing well. for the most part I feel almost normal, I'm able to get around pretty well. I have lost 12lbs since surgery an pre op loss of 10 give me a total of 22 so far. I couldn't be happier with my results thus far! the doctor said I could start pureed this week and the soft the following week. if anyone has suggestions on pureed recipes I'd greatly appreciate it!
  9. I had a hernia repair as well. so my doctor prescribed a anti spasm medication called Levsin( not sure on the spelling). It really has helped me. Maybe you could ask your doctor about it. im 7 days post op, im still on liquids but i am able to eat greek yogurt with out too much issue as long as i take my time. takes me a lil over an hour to finish a 5 oz container

  11. im still on the liquid stage 6days post op, so my options are slim. but i use bariactric fusion powder shakes 4oz and 27g protein i mix it with protein rich soy milk so my 4oz shake has like 33g protein. the first few days it was hard just to get my liquids in but now i dnt have much trouble. My dietitian says 60-80g of protein a day is good. it will get easier as time goes by! good luck!!!
  12. the bigger incision is alil sunken in the dr. said it dimples because they want to ensure it closes well. but it will flaten out as i loose wait. thats where most of my pain comes from. it actually hurts more today post op day 6 than it has rite after the surgery because alot of my stomach was kinda numb feeling an its slowing getting feeling back. my Dr. gave me a anti spasm medicine that helps because every time i drank i got painful hiccup like spasm. Last night i was having alot of pain and pressure in my stomach i started to get nervous but then after i took gasx and drank alil milk i realized it was probably just heartburn. everything really does feel different. its gonna take a while to get used to.
  13. yesterday was my first full day home. I got almost all my protein in. I drank as much as I could but it if really hard sometimes. I dnt think I got quite enough fluids in. I tried alittle applesauce and my sleeve seemed to tolerate it well. did a lot of walking yesterday, and it actually made me feel good. my muscles don't feel sore today and gas pain has been minimal. I still occasionally take my pain medicine because I want to stay ahead of the pain and if it makes it easier to get my walking in then that's a plus too! lol belly is still tender where the pulled my stomach out. other than that the incisions are looking good. definitely made the right decision ! congrats and good luck to everyone!
  14. well I was sleeved on Monday came home last night. no too much pain but it is hard to stay comfortable. belly muscles are alittle sore around big incision. doctor started me on full liquids today and I have tolerated it well so far. drinking a protein shake as I type. and I try to get up every hour and walk a bit. I think I'm more sore from bracing myself (holding in my stomach) when moving around then it actually hurts lol
  15. well I got home last night. there is not too much pain. just uncomfortable at times. it is definitely an adjustment. just haven't felt like doing to much but I have been making sure I get my walking in. doctor said to start full liquids today so I'll let u guys know how that goes! thanks for all the support!
  16. My surgery is scheduled for 8am. I need to arrive at the hospital by 7. im too anxious/nervous to sleep any longer. i keep having very odd dreams about the surgery, like deciding to go out to Breakfast before the surgery or sleeping too late and missing it. I have so many emotions coming up. im happpy and yet i feel alittle sad. maybe thats the am i making the right decision feeling. I know am, i kno all the pain i go through will be worth it even if it doesnt feel like it later today lol. if i can i will check in later today, and let you know how everything went! Good luck to everyone getting sleeved today, Here's to us!!!
  17. my surgery is tomorrow too. i thought i would be nervous by now but im not. I know im making the right choice. im hoping for a quick recovery for us both:) good luck tomorrow!!!

  19. Congrats to everyone sleeved today! Good luck to everyone sleeved tomorrow! had my pre op appt today with the surgeon to go over everything and sign some paper work. now im all set for monday!!! im so happy i want to cry. im on the 7th day of my pre op diet, things are going good! and i have lost 9lbs so im really happy about that! hopefully ill lose alittle more before monday lol.
  20. my surgery is on Monday, and I feel some comfort from your blog. post op isn't a big mystery anymore. most give general observations but having the day by day really helps get a good understanding of what mine might be like. thank you! good luck! and your doing an amazing job!
  21. I have only told a few people too, firstly because it's nobody's business! secondly there are always going to the people who whether it's intentional or not, get you down! I like to think they do it because they care but sometimes they are doing it to me rude. my one cousin, after I told her I was getting it done replied "I'm so mad, now I'm going to be the fat one!" as to imply it was my job to be the fat friend. then to tell me she is just gonna loose weight the old fashioned way, like I'm doing the easy way. not once had she said I'm happy that you made a health decision. my mother loves to remind me of foods I can't eat anymore, and she is not doing it to be mean. but it is an adjust for her too.
  22. congrats on your surgery date!! I got mine last week also and mine is the 25th. my whole process took about 2 1/2 months from 1st Dr. appt. I'm glad I didn't have any required waiting period. do they have u on a pre op diet? I was suppose to be on a 2 week one but I got my date last Friday so it's only a week pre op diet. hope everything goes well! congratulations !
  23. I'm on day 4 of my pre op diet, which consists of 2 high protein shakes and a lean meat and green veggie dinner with two snacks. the first two days were rough as hell. I cheated on the second day, I ate some fries, I felt so awful about it I dnt think I'll ever do it again. it wasn't worth it. I'm not required to loose weight but my surgeon said a light liver makes the surgery easier. I never realized how much my life revolved around food. today I feel good and comfortable with my diet. I dnt get hungry as much as I just want to eat lol. I was a grazer and snacker. but I'm not anymore and I'm ok with it! my surgery is August 25th so one more week, I'm so happy! good luck to everyone!
  24. thats my surgery date too!!!! i get a rush thinking about how close it is! Good luck and congrats!!!
