    Scared to death.....

Oh I asked my husband at least 5 times prior to surgery if I was going to die. I think the first things said was "I didn't die!"

    Scared to death.....

I had every one of those fears lol are we related???? Anyway, you are perfectly normal to have these thoughts. I have a heart murmur and HTN. I survived mostly pain free! Sore muscles is all around incisions. I too felt surgery didn't work, but I am a slow loser. I've lost 26 pounds since 9/15. Good luck. You'll do great!!!

    6 days PRE OP!

Gas x strips!!!!!! They were a huge saver for me. If I had to do it over I would have taken them without telling the nurse. She took them for approval and I waited 2 hours for relief.

    Heartburn?

I've been taking omeprazole for months and was told to continue my pill meds after surgery. Certain pills are harder one the stomach than others. Never heard we couldn't take pills. However, pain meds have been in liquid form. Good luck.
  8. I literally feel like I have stalled since week 2. I'm now week 7. I lost 11 pounds week 1. Then 4 pounds week 2. Weeks 3-7 I've lost 7.8 pounds. I know I should be happy but honestly this has been 4 weeks of the scale not moving then moving down a pound only to move up 1.7 etc.... UGH. I'm truly wanting to throw away my scale. I've had the thoughts like, ok I lost a bunch at first and my body is catching up. But honestly. It's so frustrating seeing the scale say the same thing over and over. I have gotten smaller. I wish I had taken measurements ????. I started a size 22 and wore a size 18 to work today. My heaviest weight was 264 Surgery weight was 259 Current weight 237.2 I eat every 2 hours, mostly all Protein. I do have granola in my yogurt. Is there too many carbs? I have fish or chicken for lunch and cottage cheese for snack. I've quit Protein shakes (unless I can't get food with a busy schedule) as my literature from my surgeon says to try and stay away from drinking protein. And I really do get enough. 60-90 grams a day. I'm wondering if anyone out there is having struggles like mine? Will I eventually see a significant drop??? I'm happy don't get me wrong, I have no regrets. I think I'm impatient is all.
  9. Can't wait. It seems like it will never happen. Sometimes I wonder if my stomach is small enough lol or if the surgery even worked. I know it did, but sometimes with the slow weight loss I feel ill never get where I want to be. Anyone else ever have those thoughts? Not being negative, just impatient. Slow and steady I know. I've read that there are months or weeks where we stall and lose at a greater rate but I would love to have a good losing month. I've had the stall during week 3-7 lol. My weight loss is very slow but I'm shrinking. I think I should break up with my scale for a while.

    Fab 40's shout out

Had surgery 9/15/14. I'll be 45 on 11/11. I just want to be healthy! I'm down 22 pounds in 6 weeks. Slow and steady wins the race! ????
  11. Agreed. Slow and steady wins the race. Thanks for reminding me!
  12. I was sleeved 9/15/14 @ 0730 in Everett Washington. My surgery was completely painless (minus the air pockets. Gas x fixed those right up.) I was up walking and eating jello and chicken broth and ice like nobody's business. My surgeon removed my excess stomach through my belly button so it took about a week and a half to heal. I've done fairly well with the diet eating every 2 hours while awake my schedule is protein shake for breakfast yogurt at 10am with granola. 12(ish) Lunch usually chicken or fish on whole wheat crackers. Then at 2 I eat cottage cheese. I lost 11 pounds in week 1 and 4 pounds in week 2 then only like a pound a week since then. I'm losing inches tho and my husband says not to worry about the scale. Anyone out there have similar experiences? Starting weight 264 Surgery weight 259 Current weight 238. Ugh.....

    Need some advice

I worry about dehydration. You may need IV fluids. Go to ER if needed!
  16. I have been on full liquids for 2 weeks and started soft foods today. I drink 2 premiere protein shakes a day from Costco. They are 160 cal and 30 gms protein. Not sure what the purée stage is. Most Drs have their own regimens. I was clear liquids, full liquids (anything you could suck through a straw after blended. Not using straw of course ). Now soft foods, anything I can crush with a fork....fish, canned chicken, cottage cheese, eggs...etc.

    Need some advice

My surgeon said throwing up is NEVER normal. You need to be seen!
  18. I had my surgery on the 15th. I'd love to do the Disney half marathon with you, but I live in Washington state. I would be happy to keep in touch for support and encouragement.
  19. I was sleeved on 9/15. No complications at all. Whole time in the hospital I had no problems drinking fluids and eating Jello. I've been doing very well getting in about 40 ounces of water daily and my protein shakes and soups for my meals. My problem is I'm extremely hungry ALL the time. I go to soft foods on Monday but am considering starting a day early not sure I will EVER eat soup again LOL.
