  1. Briohn!

    Second full day home

I had my procedure same day. I'm having abdominal cramps and gas, but that's all my serious complaints. Not hungry at all! It's a chore just getting the water down it seems. I'm doing ok walking. Sleep last night was rough though
  2. Hi all! Just started liquid diet for the week prior to surgery! This is the second time I've started. Initially I was told two weeks out. But when I went in, my bmi dropped below my surgeons requirement for a two week. I didn't go crazy, just ate healthy. Now I know what to expect. Had all my last tests yesterday at hospital, paid up, now ready to go!!!
  3. So it has been a long time for me. I started everything last June, did my 3 month med supervised diet. Ended that in November. Got approved in December, even after a hiccup with my pulmonologist, the approval went off without a hitch. Then all progress stopped for a while. My surgeon was in the process of switching hospitals, as he said the one he was doing surgeries at had a care concern. Well, unfortunately, his assistant needed to go through the accreditation process at the new hospital. Took forever!! Finally, April 2 I received my call. Set up for surgery on May 1! Two week liquid starts on April 17. I have been doing a sort of hybrid liquid diet to get my body used to it. I do all liquids, except I do eat a healthy lunch. I found a great Protein shake mix, designed (as I was told by the salesperson, for Bariatric surgery) it's called optim metabolic shake. It isn't too shabby!!

    Finally have a date

I get the shake mix at hi health. I don't know if they have one in your area, but I do know they ship. I also got all my vitamins there, they have a brand specifically for our needs. They are very Bariatric surgery friendly there.
  5. Ashlee I see you are a patient of dr sprunger, in az? So am I
  6. Have a question for anyone who may know. Just trying to get an idea so I can be prepared. My insurance requires a 90 day medically supervised diet, and I am just curious what this may entail. I meet with the nutritionist on the 26 of August, and I know there will be no turning back. So if anyone may have an idea, please let me know!
  7. Thanks! I know I can do it. Last year I was starting the process and I did well on a diet I put myself on, based on pre op diets I read. Sounds like the 90 day will be a more intense.
