I've stood by the LAP-BAND since day numero uno and I will continue to do so. The company that purchased it from Allergan (ApolloEndo) has very good intentions and it's in very good hands. They have some really interesting advances coming in the near future. There will always be a vibrant group of Bandsters on here who will keep the fire going. Let's remember our roots .... LapBandTalk.com is what started this all I'm here for the long haul, hope others will come along for the journey. In 5-10 years from now you'll see Sleevers standing where Bandsters are today. At the end of the day, we're all battling the same disease!!! I hope one day it'll be cured via pill. Until then.....

I get so much info, comfort, support, & ideas from the bandster community forum thanks to all the last remaining band-people.
I see value in co-mingling with other WLS patients- all supportive & informative too. Still, it's good to hear from same-kind re: complications, tricks of the trade, successes...

That's exactly why I am on this site. Because, people here care about each other.

People were like that with me as well when i first had my surgery it fell off very slowly there were people who lost twice as much as me in the first couple of months but i learned that everyone is different and that it will eventually come off and it did when i fell back into my old habits i did get a small fill which helped then i got a work out buddy and we started working out together so that i could get into a good routine i still catch myself going to my old ways but then i have to remind myself that if i keep up my old ways ill be the old me and that pretty much helps me get back on track

I did not know there was such a thing as OA! This is very intriguing to me. I will have to see if there are any meetings in my area. I have a band and have strugled off and on over the years. I think I would benefit from it! Thanks for sharing information!

Slow month for me. At least I'm losing though.

I lost 130 pounds in OA 25 years ago but then got married, dropped the program, returned to binge eating, and gained it all back.
I was banded in March this year and rejoined OA in August. It is helping me immensely.
I also began attending Codependents Anonymous this year.
Life without excess food, my drug of choice, is hard. These programs help me learn new coping mechanisms.

I was thinking of starting to go to OA and try it out along with the nutritionists support group at my surgeons. I lost 120 pounds on my own but gained it back. I'm down 35 so far with the band. I just want to lose another 50 and I'd be satisfied!!!!

Okay so for those who want to continue we will run the challenge through to the new year and then start a New Years challenge. So everyone can post their weights in December. Keep up the good work!!!
