  1. OK, so I am constantly worried about not getting enough Protein. I am on day 13 of my post op and feel pretty good but I know I am not taking in enough protein. I found this on amazon and was wondering if any one knew anything about it? BulkSupplements CLEAN whey Protein powder Isolate 90% (500 grams) by BulkSupplements Its just an unflavored whey protein that doesn't have anything of the junk the other ones have in it. Need advise.
  2. So glad you went in and are better now. Did they say why the shrimp didn't bother you?
  3. yes but one a day. I am usually taking in about 40 grams a day. 30 of it is my shake. But everything I read says I should have 60 to 90.. That's why I am wondering if the extra powder would hurt anything?
  4. Its day 13 for me and I feel great. Starting to itch a lot in my stomach from healing and yes I get these little zings over my scars too. I was doing laundry this weekend and leaned over the washer to get the last few things from the bottom and BAM serious pain over one of my incisions, I just knew I busted it open but thank God I didn't. I think we just need to remember we had surgery and are not gonna heal over night! I need to find those Protein shots!! I worry about the protein too. I started walking 25 minutes a day yesterday again like I was doing in post op. I am still weak and dang!! I am itching!!
  5. Today is day 8 for me and yes I have had some nausea as well. I had to get a refill on my nausea medicine but today I have not had it once. I take medications that I have to crush now and I think that might have something to do with it but Monday I woke up and ran to my medicine and melted that nausea pill under my tongue fast. I thought I was going to hurl but I didn't!! I think our bodies are just trying to get used to all the changes. I felt great today so far! Good luck!
  6. The day is finally here! 8:30 a.m. and I get checked into the surgery center. My whole family is going with me, mom, sister, two daughters. They are so excited for me. Say a prayer and I will check in as soon as I can!

    Band affecting work

Thanks so much for clearing that up
  14. Thanks to all of the posts on my day 4 pre-op cause I was so hungry. Now that is going away. I moved my shakes to 9am and 2pm, eat my meal aroundt 6:30 and I go to bed at 9pm so I dont get hungry and want to eat since that is my hardest time. That helped a lot. I also started eating the Jello and the broth. Friday I started walking for 20 minutes and honestly I am starting to feel better. Not tired during the day like before. I am doing more house work. Still edgy with the family but getting a little better. Probably from not drinking my couple of beers after work anymore. I am getting very excited about my surgery date.

    Band affecting work

That is a terrible thing to here! I am not banded yet but work in a cubicle with 100 people around me. I would hope they would be encouraging! I am praying for you and yes I think I would be back at the Dr. myself. I have a question though. What is sliming and PBing?
  16. This is my first post and 2nd day on this website. Day 4 of pre-op diet. I am feeling hungry most of the time and truly fighting the urge to stop and grab something! along with being kinda edgy as well it reminds me of why I always hated dieting. BUT: I am so very excited about my lab-band and can't wait to start this journey to feeling healthy again. I find myself reading all my paperwork over and over to make sure I havent forgotten anything and feeling a bit nervous. Luckily there is a lady at work that had this same procedure done in March and she has lost 53 pounds and that makes me feel better. I joined this site to share my journey with others and to find support from people that know what I am going through. I have been looking at many of your profiles and am just amazed! If you have any suggestions for being hungry, I would love to hear them! Thanks, "I am hungry"

    Surgery Date - 9/3/14

Hey Jen! I am a newbie to and my surgery date is 8/14 about 2 weeks prior to yours but I would love to find a few people to that are experiencing this and make the journey together. I live in Texas and just joined this site and I am very excited and nervous too! I am on my pre-op right now and am looking forward to not feeling hungry!! Lets take this ride togther! I am surprised that there are so many people out here that have or will be doing this type of surgery. I didn't want to but I went ahead and took a couple pics of myself the other day at work. I am like you and hate them too!! I had a good feeling here that no one is here to judge me but to encourage me so I posted them. The way I see it... I can only start to look better and I can't wait to post after pictures!! Looking forward to getting to know you and many more! Kelly

I hear ya. Once I found this site, I just had to keep coming back for more. If you are a newbie, then welcome, welcome.

  19. I am on a 14 day pre-op (started a few days early since I gained a few pounds when I was weighed in) Protein must have: max 5 grams fat, max 7 grams carbohydrates/suger per scoop and minimum of 20 grams of protein. snacks:low sodium broth, coffe, tea, sugar free Jello or popcycles 2 Protein shakes a day and one healthy meal at lunch or dinner. Meal consists of 4 oz. of fish, chicken, trukey or very lean meat. 1 cup of green vegetables and 1 cup of apples, strawberries, rasberries, blackberries or blueberries. The first powder I bought had all that but 26 grams of protein. I tried a new one today that has 30 grams and I think it be doing the trick a little better. I also started a cup of low sodium broth and suger free jello. I guess I need to just suck it up.
