April bypass buddies.
Today is my Surgiversary and I've officially lost 120.6 lbs. I'm 42 lbs from my surgeons goal and 62 lbs from my dream goal of 160. I'm still stuck and feel defeated. No matter what I do I can't seem to get out of the 220s. Even before I let my weight creep up to 342, I've always been 220. I'm wondering if this is where my weight is meant to be? [emoji17]

WARNING, TMI...
Thanks for the tips everyone. The milk of magnesia actually worked. I just don't want to have to depend on that to have a BM.[emoji17]

WARNING, TMI...
What can I take to help my bowels move? I haven't had a bowel movement in almost a week? I already know about benefiber and miralax, but those don't seem to work and I'm hoping that someone may have an at home remedy that works for them?

Before and After Pics
You look amazing. We started at the same weight and I've been stuck at 224. Can you provide me any pointers? Oh and when was your surgery date? If you don't mind me asking? My surgery was 11/10/15 and I lost a good chunk pre op. But def just don't stress the scales and numbers. It just makes it all painful! For me the scale moved more the more work I put in at the gym. And diet wise I try and stick to mostly lean Proteins, seafood, sashimi and veggies and drink tons of Water. you'll get there! I'm at 199 now.that is amazing and hope to get to 199 by my birthday, which is in July.

Before and After Pics
You look amazing. I was about 20lbs more than you, my surgery weight. But I didn't think it was possible for anyone in the 3s to get to onederland and you are living proof. I've been stuck at 224 for like over a month and can't seem to get the scale to move but you give me hope? Can you offer some pointers?

Stopped losing at 11 months post op
Now I eat small portions that I know I can finish. I don't stack my plate like I used too. I definitely don't eat and drink. I'm still on the 30/30 rule. If anything I know I'm sticking to that. Protein drinks not drinking like use to. I prefer to get my protein by meats and eggs. Now the PB&J I eat are the uncrustables you buy from the store. There little sandwiches shaped like circles and are usually for kids. I eat 1 sandwich. This morning I had my usual scrambled eggs and 2 slices of turkey bacon. Drunk about 40 oz of Water before lunch and for lunch I had baked chicken nuggets. So far, so good. And if I get hungry before dinner should I try some tea and lemon w/ no sugar, or chicken broth?

Stopped losing at 11 months post op
Ok so I'm getting in at least 50 oz of water a day. I'm getting protein through food. For example for breakfast I'll have scrambled eggs and 2 slices of turkey bacon. For lunch I'll eat a PB&J sandwich and for dinner I'll eat chicken, fish or beef. No potatoes or rice only vegetables. I'll also have a few snacks. Now I can honestly say that I've been really feeling hungry all the time and been having at least one sugary item. I crave sugar a lot and Trying to find other alternatives to get my fix. I'm thinking about going back to a liquid diet consisting of water, protein, sugar free jello, Popsicles and chicken broth just to reset my pouch for 3 days. Do you all think that's a good idea?

Stopped losing at 11 months post op
Just seeing if you all had any suggestions because I can't seem to get this stupid scale to move? Been stuck in the mid to upper 220s and trying to get out of the 220s. I've tried liquids and Fiber and nothing seems to budge the scale. I'm at a loss. I have my 1 year post op appointment next month and I at least wanted to be down to 209. My docs goal for me is 180 and I'm no where near that. What works for you all? Any advice is welcome because I need to get this scale to moving.

April bypass buddies.
Hi lea, i know it can be frustrating but at we know what to do and just get back on track with the liquids its VERY important to drink your liquids and protein your body def needs it!! There are times when I forget to get my protein in and I end up feeling crapy. lol Good luck to you and Im sure everything will work out!! Yeah, I'll definitely get my act together because I refuse to believe this is all the weight that I'm gonna lose.

My surgery date was 4/8/15 and my weight has also slowed down. I, too, am able to eat a little more. I've lost a total of 117 lbs and still have 45 lbs to go to get to my goal weight of 180 and it's so hard for me. I'm afraid that I'm done losing because I can't seem to get that scale to budge. Some days I do eat things I know I shouldn't but most of the time I try to stick to my plan, but I know I haven't been doing all that well with fluids and protein and need to get back on track with that. When I try to be good the scale still refuses to move. I'm getting so that I'm scared to eat or drink anything just to get the scale to finally move but I know that won't help. This is getting frustrating[emoji22]

At 2 weeks post-op, my non VSG world shattered. I am trying to pick up the pieces...
My heart goes out to you and your family and definitely are in my prayers. Protein and liquids are the most important part of this journey and as long as you work on that you will be strong enough to be there for your son. Since you are still in the beginning stages you really want to make sure to get your liquids and protein in because it's so easy at this stage to get dehydrated and you don't want to be hospitalized. Definitely not now!!!
