    Need serious help!

Hey all... I have failed. I had my operation in July and have had two fills since then. I originally lost weight but have been eating badly the last few months and have put the weight back on. I was scheduled to have another fill but I cancelled it because I was ashamed to face the facts. I told myself I will lose the weight first and then have another fill... I know I need one as I don't feel much restriction at all. Does anyone have any advice? I don't need any tough love at the moment to be honest, I feel pretty shit and am so angry at myself Thanks
  2. I have been on soft foods for 2 days and seems to be okay. I have been eating foods with a lot of liquid and am chewing as much as I can and everything seems to be going down well. My question is, will I know if anything goes wrong? Like will I feel it? Because I am worried that I might be doing damage but can't feel it? Just paranoid probably, I know!? Thanks, Nicky
  3. Hey I am just over a month after my surgery and have been on solid foods for about a week now. I have lost 22 pounds since surgery. I am eating much much less than I was before and am confident that at the amount I am currently eating I will definitely lose weight. I feel comfortably full. However, I am not eating what is suggested in my handbook, if I was to eat what they suggest I would be very hungry and don't think I could do that long term. Some ideas of what I might eat in a day: - standard bowl of porridge (oats so simple) - sandwich with 2 slices of bread with salad and ham/turkey slices. - 1 chicken breast/1 salmon fillet/1 fish cake with salad or veg and mash. - yoghurt/rice pudding - apple/pear/grapes I make sure I chew chew chew and all the food seems to go down well. I get burpy but that is it. I have tried red meat but find it unenjoyable because I chew it for so long! I am really enjoying this process and have my first appointment for a fill on 5th September. I am in too minds whether I need a fill at this point, is there anyone who can share their experiences? Let me know how you guys are doing Thanks, Nicky
  4. Hey all, I am doing well with recovery from my surgery. Am feeling really positive and motivated and have stayed on the liquids for two weeks now... I have no idea how I managed it but I did! I am starting soft food diet for two weeks tomorrow and am a bit nervous. With the liquid diet I felt so in control and new exactly what I was doing and I am worried that when I go onto soft foods I won't be in control anymore, has anyone else had this feeling? I need some ideas for some meals, is it okay to have mashed potato mixed in with shredded chicken and gravy? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

    Chicken noodle soup

Hey guys, I am very new to the band and still on liquids at the moment. I was wondering how people coped with eating chicken noodle Soup and other foods where there is liquid with solid. I know we are not supposed to drink when eating but is this a problem also? Thanks

    Chicken noodle soup

Thanks guys for the replies but I don't think I explained myself clear enough... I meant when I can start eating solid foods is it a good idea to have things like chicken noodle soup? Because I was told not to drink and eat at the same time...
  7. Hey guys! I just recently had the lap band surgery... It is day 4 post op now. I thought it would be good to start posting on a forum for support and encouragement. Generally the healing process has been good but I have been getting a shooting pain in my left shoulder which I have been told is the trapped gas that they use in the surgery. How long does this take to stop? This seems to get more uncomfortable when I drink my fluids... I don't know if I am drinking too much? It is the hardest psychologically. One moment I am thinking this is great and exciting and the next minute I am doubting that I made the right decision... when I used to feel down I would turn to binge eating to distract me from these emotions but I can't do this now and it means I have to face these emotions face on which is scary but ultimately I feel this is going to be worth it! Wish me luck with my continual recovery

    Lap band - 26th July 2014

Just an update guys.... I am now on day 10/11 post op and I feel pretty good! No more gas pains and almost all of my stomach pain has gone, I get a little twinge if I bend down to fast on my biggest scar but that is it. I have lost 15 pounds already, which is amazing but I am really scared that I am going to get that stage where my body goes into starvation mode and I stop losing :/ I am still on liquid diet, having 3 Protein shakes a day and drinking yoghurt at times... I do get very hungry at times but I just have to think, I am not dying! It is not that terrible a feeling, I am just not used to it. I get to go to soft foods on Sunday which sounds amazing. What kind of stuff would you recommend? I have bought some baby food and I was thinking on Sunday I could have some mashed potato and mix in some shredded roast chicken and gravy, would that be okay do you think? Anyways, let me know how you are all doing

    Lap band - 26th July 2014

Hey guys, thanks for the replies! They have all been really encouraging, I have had quite a positive day today and my hunger seems to be lessening... Racer, I have had shortness of breath at times, almost as if I momentarily forgot to breathe... not sure what this is. Just taking one day at a time and I may go for a walk outside tomorrow (have been going on the dreadmill since op)
