Bands. Just because no one has mentioned them yet. The rubber bands that you can get at Walmart for $20 are priceless. My gym has them and I use them all the time for arms, forearms, back, shoulders, traps, and chest.

    Arms?
Trying to figure that out myself.
My work in the gym is limited to a failing abdominal hernia repair and a torn rotator cuff in my right shoulder. I still lift but doing so in ways that are more cautious than ever before.
For biceps: hammer curls, standing curls, isolation curls and lat pulldowns
For triceps: Overhead db extensions, standing horizontal db extensions, tri pulldowns
Most chest and shoulder work will develop arms as well.....so I'd recommend only doing direct arm work after the chest/arms work is done.
What do I know, however, just and old dude with toothpick arms.

Standing tricep extensions, chair dips (modifications for bent knees will help if you need it), standing cable curls, stability ball outside curls. Using some tempo changes on these exercises can build the tension in the muscle which encourages growth. More growth of muscle means skin has to adjust. If you're not looking to necessarily build a ton of muscle, use lower weights and more reps.
Push-ups build on chest as well as triceps, but I still like them for overall upper body workout. Rowing works mainly back as the primary mover, but triceps are secondary if performed correctly.
Just as some advice if you're not already doing so, make sure you are evenly working your entire body. Don't over work just your arms. Be sure to get a well rounded workout schedule and change it up often for best results.

I love Pilates for this. The arm/shoulder work has been doing great things to reshape my arms. I haven't had skin removal surgery, though, and my arms were not way way big. I do have some saggy skin on them, but it seems to be toning up a bit.

I go to mostly Vinyasa and Ashtanga classes.... But I got started with YouTube videos--go there and look up Erin Moetz or "one bad yogi." I love her videos! Great place to start.
I attribute my arms to vinyasa... You can look on YouTube for vinyasa or chatturungha dandasana. It's a process--I could NOT do that at first but worked my way up. I really think classes are the best because an instructor can help you modify for your limitations but still get the most out of a pose! They will also help with your alignment so you can grow without injury!

IMHO, scars are the least concern. They fade and I would take scars with tighter skin over loose skin any day of the week!

Day 5. I'm counting surgery day as day 1.
So today I thought for shits n giggles I'd try on this tiny swim suit. Shocking!
Remember I'm still swollen but holy crap! Is that really mine??? It's hard to get it to sink in.
I'm also including some photos of just how loose my skin was. Not flattering but I don't care it's where I started. Before all of this. PS I still have tape on my boobs and that line is my JP drain.

Thank you so much. I appreciate it. Just mentally prepare yourself, then physically prepare. I researched the hell out of the process. Plus my doc snapchats a lot of his procedures if his patients give permission. Which I did. My friends and family were so uncertain and afraid for me. In order to be successful I also need my loved ones support. They were able to watch my procedure and see what I went through. My friend that came with me, got to watch while she waited to be let in to see me in recovery. The support I have received blows my mind everyday. And I have never once regretted my decision to commit to this surgical process.
Good luck to you and all that read this. Hugs and much love!!!

I had a brachioplasty and a breast lift on 4/21. I was just wondering what the average time to get back to "normal" is? Normal as in having normal range of motion back with your arms, being able to bed over without discomfort due to the lift, ect. Because everything is so tight right now and my boobs have never been this tight. Thanks

Its been over 2 years and I have NO visible scars on my breasts. In fact, I had to have an implant replaced in January and even that scar is nearly invisible already! ( I didn't need the big incision on my breasts). My arms which I was so frightened of the scars are also amazing. You can see the, but nobody notices unless I point them out in decent light. I wear sleeveless clothes alot and have never felt conscious of those scars after the initial 6 months or so.
Advice - keep your scars out of the sun for 1-2 years!

Thanks! I had hubby takes pics of my boobs and arms which is the only surgery at the time. I'm trying to get up the nerve to post. I keep apologizing to him that my boobs look ugly and I want them to look pretty for him, etc etc. He says its alright and I know he is right, but he is a boob guy and I feel he is disappointed even though I know he isn't because he knew what they would look like during the healing process as did it.

Yea, I know it will be worth it, just not pretty in the beginning. I had a breast lift and a brachioplasty done Thursday. Yea the shower felt wonderful, but I was exhausted afterward! Lol.

Well I had my brachioplasty and breast lift yesterday. We got home about 9 or so last night. It went good and I have absolutely no regrets, but I am so very sore. Not really any pain, but just sore. If that makes sense. Have to keep compression garments on for 72 hours and then I can take off and take a bath.
