1. I am nine days postop and I was told by my doctor not to start.Puréed until two weeks postop I thought that that was the industry-standard? I must admit these past eight days have been torture I haven't been able to even polywater without feeling sharp pains in my stomach. But today I feel like a brand-new person I'm telling you my stomach is growling too! (I am desperate for food).

  2. I was really happy about getting the gastric sleeve prior to surgery but I've been having a lot of regrets since. I underestimated the extent to which I depended on food for emotional gratification, for a social outlet, for comfort.

Oh how I fee your feeling if regret! .......I hade my sleeve done July 24th....... I can't even drink water! I'm currently sitting in my living room hooked up to IV fluids!

  3.
Hey Chav1,

Listen girly, you could be my surgery clone. I had my sleeve done 7/16 and also had the swelling. It hurt each time I took a sip of Water. I had go back on iv's and stayed 5 full days in the hospital hooked up to them. When I left it literally took me an entire day to drink a bottle of Water 16oz. I am two weeks out today and can only get down 2 bottles of water. I know others who were drinking their 64oz and going back to work a week later. I still hurt and my doctor gave me an additional week off. Trust me it gets better. Really I would say it has only been about 4 days that I have felt somewhat human. I cannot even keep a multi Vitamin down but am able to eat soft foods. I have even lost 19 pounds. Still hoping to soon feel completely back to normal. Best of luck and hang in there. I didn't expect it to be this hard either.

Boy oh boy did I really need to hear from you. I'm telling you I swear I have been having feelings of regret since about postop day three I can't believe that we have such a similar story ! I definitely will keep in contact with you and I hope your journey gets easier too!

  4. So tomorrow marks one week since my surgery. I had the gastric sleeve done on last Thursday, July 24. I also had to have my gallbladder removed. The recovery has been horrible. I was released from the hospital on Saturday and three hours later had to go right back because of the pain. I wasn't expecting this to Be but in no way did I feel it would be this difficult. A coworker of mine had her sleeve done on July 11 and was back to work 10 days later. My doctor says that the reason I can't drink anything normally (post gastric sleeve normal )is because my sleeve is tight and there is a lot of swelling. I know I'm not hungry but my brain is telling me I want food! In the fact that it feels like someone is stabbing me when I take a sip of even Water is making things all the more worse! I just hope this gets better I can't even think about how good I'm going to look, although I've already lost 23 pounds since I decided to get the surgery!........ I'm just miserable and needed to vent!
