  1. Feelings bummed out at the moment.  :44_frowning2:  Just got a call from my PCP's office - liver enzymes are elevated; stop taking statin and arthritis medication. More tests to be done.  I see him next on 4/7 for my annual physical so we'll talk more about possible causes.  I've been doing well and feeling real good lately.  Heading to the gym after work as scheduled - new goal - work out the bummed feelings.

Sorry to hear that and hope you get it sorted soon. As for the gym, hope it did the trick !!

  2. Friday Weekend Warm-up: It's easier to stay on track than get back on track. When you have positive momentum built up from the week, don't let the weekend stop it! Stay on track, keep the momentum going, and Monday morning you won't have to put forth the effort to get back in control. From Beck Diet Solution/Daily Diet Tip

  3. Slow moving this morning, having trouble getting my motor going.

  4. Getting back into my eating and exercise routine after being on vacation for 2.5 weeks, with most of it out of town. Happy to say I did NOT gain weight!! YAY!!

Yep! The plan is already in place. We will be splitting meals and I am taking protein bars and good high protein snacks. We already had that conversation about not being able to take the leftovers so sharing is the way to go! I am actually looking forward to this. It helps the peace of mind to already know what I will be doing.

The saying hit a spot with me today when I read it in a post from a health coach with the Prevent program. My progress has slowed considerably and I'm working to get kick started again.

  14. I don't ever remember a time in my life when you could consider my legs skinny. But in the past week, 3 different co-workers have commented on how skinny my legs are now. Guess all that leg press and elliptical work is paying off (smile).

Good for you! I've had comments about my body too which used to make me super uncomfortable but now helps me to see what others see. Getting your overweight brain to change seems to be the hardest part .

Yes, I do appreciate all the compliments I've been receiving. When the scale victories aren't there, at least the non-scale victories are.

Agreed about the brain @MountainGirl! That's the hardest part!

  15. Creeping, creeping, creeping toward Onederland......an average of a quarter pound per week.......so slow.....working on patience....will eventually get there and to my goal. Just wish it was more like a half pound a week average.

I got there about 10 days ago and then guess what, I creeped right back up to 200.2. I have been stuck for almost 2 weeks. I wish it would just give me a break and let me move past. Oh well, I am now avoiding the scale for a while.

    4. MrsSugarbabe

      MrsSugarbabe

@Djmohr -- I feel your frustration and agree---a break would be nice....to show a loss without creeping back up even just a little.

  16. July 2, 2015 - Think Thin Thursday - Do you have a plan for this upcoming holiday weekend? Remember, it is much easier to make good decisions ahead of time than it is in the moment. Save yourself the burden of having to make spontaneous decisions by planning your weekend in advance. From: http://www.beckdietsolution.com/daily-diet-solutions/

  17. Why am I so hungry this morning?? Ever have one of those days where no matter what you eat, even high protein options, you just can't get the gnawing stomach hunger to quit? It's barely 10am and I've consumed about half my calories and almost half my protein for the day. And I've been drinking my water.

    2. roundisashape

      roundisashape

Yup! Those days suck. Tomorrow you probably won't want to eat at all!

    3. MrsSugarbabe

      MrsSugarbabe

Fortunately, I was finally able to get to the point the gnawing stomach hunger subsided some and I no longer wanted to eat everything not tied down, and I didn't consume more carbs than what my plan guidelines are. This afternoon should prove to be better foodwise, and more manageable.

    4. CanyonBaby

      CanyonBaby

Are you still (or have you started ) taking a PPI? I wonder if it is stomach acid. When I get that insatiable hunger thing, I tend to lean towards dairy. It is heavy and "feels" more filling. Especially yogurt. Maybe worth a try?

  18. Enjoying my new strength & cardio routine, but not the increased weight on the scale. I know why that happens when doing strength training so I'm trying to not let it affect my psyche. NSV - Toning muscle and losing inches!! Yeehaw!!

      MrsSugarbabe

Thanks for the encouragement, ladies! @CanyonBaby, @ShrinkingPeach, @Djmohr -- I felt like I needed to ramp up what I had been doing at the gym so I met with a trainer a week ago last Thursday. The routine is a bit more intense, but very doable for me despite my normal chronic pain and limitations. Good thing I like exercising - grins......

  19. Wearing WHITE slacks today for work.....with a very colorful jacket and orange shell underneath. And feeling great about my NEW outfit!! I love colorful clothes and am so very tired of always wearing black slacks to work, even tho I pair them with a variety of colorful tops and jackets.. My co-workers and I joke about black slacks being our corporate uniform (we work in Administration at a hospital). It's great getting out of the black rut!!!! Now to on to getting to Onederland!!! So very close......

  20. For the past few weeks, I've had a hankering for a peanut butter cup, and have managed to resist buying any every time I've gone shopping. The combination of peanut butter and chocolate is a favorite even though I'm not a choco-holic. Recently I've learned about PB2 powder and have found a recipe on Unjury that just might satisfy this craving and still have more protein and good stuff than bad stuff. I just ordered some PB2 to try. Will let you know how the peanut butter cups turn out.

Love PB2. The chocolate is a nice treat when my sweet tooth nags at me. Love either on on apples or celery as well as in a smoothy

I don't know what pb2 is. So I can't judge that.... But Lintz sure taste great.... Lol. suger I understand about your worries on not being able too stop. Don't underestimate yourself. You can.... Break a piece wrap it up then enjoy it. Don't put it open on your nightstand ok ......

  21. I do well with my meal plan most days, but then there are times when I eat just a bite or two too many and wish I could undo what I just did. Now is one of those times -- a few too many cashews. I know the misery will pass, but until then......Yuck!

Were they the salted type? The salt gets me every time...I am a salt-aholic....love salt, always have, and it is my nemesis. So I always over-do with salty-crunchy stuff...have to stay away from it! HAVE TO!

    3. MrsSugarbabe

      MrsSugarbabe

@CanyonBaby ...... yes, they were salted cashews. I, too, am a salt-aholic, always have been. And it is the salty-crunchy stuff that calls my name, esp. the beef jerky. I'm working on saying "NO" to those things that I've not planned into my day. Let's face it, besides the additional calories, carbs, etc., the additional salt isn't helping with the water retention issue.

  22. Never EVER have I intentionally put a pair of 100% cotton slacks in a HOT dryer....until this morning. And I did so with confidence knowing that however much they might shrink, I would still be able to wear them to work today. I typically do not buy anything 100% cotton because of the shrink factor, but this pair of slacks was such a great buy I took the leap knowing I would not be wearing them for very long. In fact, I even bought the next size down, but am not quick in those yet. These slacks have gotten a little large on me, but are still quite wearable. Imagine my joy when I put them on after drying in the hot dryer and they fit loosely :)

So wonderful! I do that with t-shirts, but find they shrink too much in the length, thus making my belly a true spectacle!!!! Sometimes I save the things that are too big now for the winter. Like pants; I then can put my long underwear underneath, and they fit better AND keep me warm....DID I JUST SAY WINTER????? I AM OUT OF MY MIND!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!

Its the best feeling in the world to try and intentionally shrink clothes now. I did the same thing this morning-the complete opposite of what I used to do. Way to go!

@Stevehud - I love the daily posts on Beck Diet Solution's website. The medical doctor in the group where I had my surgery strongly recommended this book when I met with him prior to committing to surgery. I borrowed the book from the library and looked it over, but didn't read it. I found that the daily posts still help with changing the way I think about food and my relationship to it.

I've been using the SF Vanilla and SF Caramel in my morning coffee, along with hazelnut creamer, for a few years now. I love my "sissy" coffee!! (No, I don't do full decaf -- just a blend of decaf and regular which my sleeve tolerates very well.) Next, I'm going to try the SF Raspberry flavor which is waiting in my kitchen unopened......

lol...I got some folgers drops...they are like Mio...I like frappuccino's but will need to make a low cal one. I am going to try unsweetened almond milk, ice and those drops. It won't be Starbucks but it also won't be 500 calories!
