What are you telling people at home and at work?
I am ateacher as well. I did tell the people I worked with. They have been supportive. Several have even been considering it themselves. I did not tell my family. I felt they were going to be angry and not want me to get it. If they ask about my weight I am just going to tell them I am doing supervised medical weight loss.

2 Weeks out and I gained a 1/2 pound today! What's up with that?
Don't sweat it. Most people go up and down by a few pounds. Just focus on what you have already lost and were you are going.

Truth! What's the pain really like?
I never felt my stomach or the staples. The worst pain was from gas. I was also sore because I only had a week to recover before work. I felt any pain I went through has been worth it since I have been losing weight.

How necessary is this pre-op diet?
Pre op sucked really bad. I had to keep in mind 2 things. It will make my surgery go batter because my liver will be smaller and easier to operate around. Second it keeps you bowels from being swollen or inflamed. My nurse was saying if they were inflamed there was a greater chance of a nick and infection. I am a teacher and I understand the extra layer of frustration.

Pre-sleeve
Monday will be 4 weeks.

Pre-sleeve
I had a cheat meal during my pre-op phase. Everything still went well with my surgery. I would say just move on and stop beating yourself up.

Do not compare yourself to anyone else! Our bodies are all so different and you will lose weight differently than other people.

August Sleevers Check In
Made it home yesterday and the pain has not been too bad. I would recommend a pillow to put between you and the seat belt for the ride home. I am just walking and getting fluids in.

CRAP! Have I made a mistake before surgery?
I was told that it it does not matter if your BMI goes under the 40 or 35 number. I was worried about that a few months ago but it should not effect you especially since you were already approved.

Opinions on protein pasta?
Some of them do not taste so good. I would try spaghetti squash or making other veggies into noodles.

Does anyone know if you lose body hair as well? I have been wondering about this one.

Food Addict + Pre-Op Diet = Raging B**** :-(
I have been snappy, loopy and weepy since I started my liquid diet. It is hard so I empathize with you. Can you have no chunk soup? If so I found that helps to take the edge off. Maybe a support group or therapist could help. Some days are better than others. I also have read that sugar is as addicting as heroine.

Im now sleeved!
Glad your surgery went well and you are on the mend.

"My special food"
Luckily my husband finds the pre-op food gross. Even my dog does not find it appealing;she no longer begs for food from me. Maybe label your things so they do not go for them.
