Jen - a work in progress got a reaction from Snowlife123 in Anyone in Wisconsin?
I'm in the Milwaukee area. But I won't have surgery until Oct 23rd. I'm in my 30s, but most people I know who have WLS are in their late 40s or older.

Hey everyone! I just wanted to keep in touch with everyone on the postop boards now that most of us are done and in a few more days the remainder of us October sleevers will be done as well.
How is everyone doing? Feel free to share any problems, suggestions, recipes that helped you get your Protein in, and any other advice you'd like to share. Ask questions, if you have them. Use this thread as you see fit, but mostly to keep in touch with everyone.
I know quite a few people went to the Facebook page. I know it's private, but I've seen cases where private information was temporarily made public on Facebook by Facebook glitches/viruses/hacks. I know there is no intention of it going public but I rather not take the risk.
So I hope to hear from you all soon!!
Best wishes and good luck!

Hey everyone! I haven't been on here in a very long time. I'm doing well. Recently relocated to Houston, TX from Milwaukee, WI. I'm down to 168lbs and trying to hold steady. I guess I could get to 150 but I'm happy with the current results and don't want to go too much lower. It's a challenge tho, that's for sure. Hope you all are doing well! I'll post pics soon. I'm not big on taking pics but I'll get there eventually lol

Jen - a work in progress reacted to Kiba in Constant nausea, morning sickness feeling, allergies, post nasal drip
I was mistaking a lot of allergy symptoms with GERD, have you been checked out for that? When I started taking acid reducing medication and catering my diet around it, my nausea and mucus issues went away almost completely! GERD gives your mucus and if you already have allergy issues (which I do and take Claritin) the combination is horrible. Try taking some OTC Omeprazole with your allergy meds and see a difference; it could very well be that.

Any Texas sleevers in here? I'm a 31 yr old mom of 2(5 & 7), live around Dallas. My surgery is on Feb 9th. Just looking for a good group of people that chat with. I can't relate to older folks having surgery, as I really think the recovery & life struggles will be different because of age.

If this is your first plateau 7 months out, consider yourself lucky. I just broke my second 7.5 months out and by "broke" I mean I finally got past the barrier by 2#s

I'll be hosting the next challenge; Susan is incredibly busy and these challenges really help me too! The next challenge will start the Monday after this one is completed, April 13. It's going to run until Memorial Day. I'll be creating the thread soon! Keep a lookout for the link =)

I've been doing pretty good and met my original goal I set for myself. I had surgery October 23rd and was at 238lbs. Today I am at 178. My goal was to get back to 180lbs. Since I'm still in that 6 month window of loss, I'm sure I'll continue to drop and be closer to my dieticians agreed upon goal for me of 150lbs. I'm not really following any diet now. I still eat healthy like I should - that's a permanent lifestyle change I've had even before I embarked on this journey. I do drink alcohol more than I'm willing to admit but in social settings which also happens to be often.
I'm working on getting toned up now to try and pull everything back together again. I know my weight will go up as my muscle increases since muscle weighs more than fat.
Overall, I am very happy with the surgery so far and my results even tho I have a long ways to go being only 4 months out.

it's Saturday and I'm dreading Monday. Last couple of weeks, I haven't been dong that good on my diet. Not eating junking but just eating too much. So hungry lately. The stress of work. This weekend. I'm planting my grapes and strawberries. Putting up a 30 by 10 dog run. Thinking about picking up about a dozen of chicks, so i will have to get going on the chicken coop soon. oh, I forgot, I have to build a dog house too. Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

I hope everyone had a good week. On tuesday night, we lost our new dog duke. He was only a year old, died of fungal pneumonia. We just got him about 6 six weeks ago from the animal shelter. Doctor said he had it before we got him. We have another puppy that we got at the same time. He was missing Duke. So i picked up another puppy on thursday but ended up getting her sister on friday. So now I have a house full of puppies. They have their own room and 43 acres to run around on.
