Hello my fellow Sleevers, so I'm 4 months out and I am experiencing hunger every 2 hours..is that normal? Can you all please help and share some healthy Snacks or easy/soft foods. I have a shake once in a while but maybe I should have one every am and see if that helps. I've lost 52 lbs since surgery and 71 altogether but still think I should have lost more by now

I know exactly what you mean! I thought the same thing, then I decided I really don't care what others think - it's the best investment I've ever made! Fortunately my family is very supportive. My problem has been gulping. This morning I ended up with a huge bubble between my throat and my stomach. I didn't know what to do - it wouldn't go up, it wouldn't go down. I probably looked ridiculous standing there arms outstretched, eyes about to pop out! I finally popped a gas ex and it relaxed. My incident for the day...
Anywhoo - I really appreciate you all and learn a lot from the boards. BTW, I'm in Richmond, VA! Give a shout!

My husband is still in Barbados (the Bim) waiting for my return. He is telling me all the healthy foods he will prepare for me. I just don't know how I am going to pass up pudding and souse but Simon (my sleeve name) will make sure I do. Lol

    Yes support makes a difference.
And no they don't understand. People think this is the easy route but this feel like the hardest thing ever. My mind has not caught up with my lil ole sleeve yet. Just a few minutes ago I forgot about it and reached for my diet snapple tea (the best) and gulped it down like I was normal. After that I said holy crap what the heck did I just do lol. But I'm happy I had a moment that I forgot because I've had a ruff day lord knows. And it felt good for a second to feel normal even though my sleeve brought me back to reality fast.

Mochax it sounds like you are doing great. You are learning about life being sleeved. Your sister is probably dealing with her own issues related to you being sleeved. She maybe unsure how it's going to play into your relationship. I suggest you just take this day by day. I am not an expert. However, I have learned that being sleeved is working for me. I am changing my life and increasing my happiness over all. Give yourself a break and remember this not another diet. Change takes time.

You have completed the first step in having the surgery. Now It's time to move forward on creating your healthier lifestyle. I am 3 months post-op today. It has not been easy. I miss fried foods. However, I have more energy and happiness. Some days I just want to eat my happy foods. Then I think about how unhealthy my body had gotten. I felt like crap most days. For me, that the reason why I did this. I did not want to feel sleepy and crappie. I am now getting healthy. Sometimes, I still eat the bad stuff. However, I don't live off junk or excuses anymore. The weight will come off. Stalls are normal. You just have to do your part. We are all here to help each other. Tell us more about what is going on!

Hey hon! Hang in there! I had this moment once a month for........forever. Until I hit goal! Seriously, I was like... why eat good, nothing's happening! And then my shoes were flopping off of my feet and my watch fell off. :/ The butt in my pants was sagging and all my shirts were hanging too low. I was dropping inches like mad but only watching the scale.
How far out are you, how much did you have to lose and what's your progress so far? If you are hungry, eat some food! There's no reason to not eat. This isn't starvation. If the issue is that you want to eat junk and shouldn't/can't, then lets find something to reroute your thoughts, something to keep you busy-- read a book, watch a movie. I actually chew gum when I get snacky. My mouth is busy and then I get away from whatever it is I'm tempted to eat.

Word of advice from a veteran sleever who fell off of the wagon since surgery almost two years ago...protein, Protein, protein and lots of water! I've been re-energized by doing this and feel like my sleeve is working for me again...I've cut down on carbs tremendously (most come from fruits), and I've focused on staying hydrated. For new sleevers, don't ever get discouraged! Follow your surgeon and nutritionist's instructions and the pounds will melt off. As you progress, stay away from slider foods (my downfall) and focus on protein first; it will keep you fuller longer. I haven't hit onederland yet, but I sure am looking forward to getting there. Just 21 pounds to go! Stay focused all! Keep your eyes on the prize and remember why you did all this! Good luck!

I know it can be but u have to make this journey your own. I'm only a little over three weeks out and I'm down 21.5 pounds but I had a small 1pound gain but I can't be discouraged I just moved from liquids to pureed foods. I spoke to a girl yesterday who I found out had her sleeve after I did and she is down 31pounds and told me she wasn't exactly following and I was like wow. But I had to think to each it's own this is my journey and I will just continue to work as hard as I can. You will lose more. Talk to your dietician to see what he or she says. In this journey I think support is key.

meat, especially chicken was a problem for me at first. I'm glad to have made it thru the awkward stage. Now I'm struggling with fluids. When I'm on the road it's hard to get them down because my stomach is a social butterfly.... sing, sing, sing. Then my nutritionist says I need 90 grams of Protein a day! And this is going to happen how? I'll be honest, they're more days than I'm proud to admit that I only get in a liter of fluids. I'm pushing myself to get better, but it's easier said done. Heck I'm just happy to still have hair.

Having the surgery was the best decision I've made in years. My surgery was on July 10th and I'm tolerating all textures with no dumping issues. I'm so blessed. The biggest problem for me is that my stomach likes to "sing" sometimes when I'm drinking fluids. Not a problem when I'm alone, but in a client meeting, it presents a problem.

Today I met the girl who reccommended her surgeon to me, she's around 9 months out and looked A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!
Thanks to her who revealed her secret (her colleague had done it a few years back but she never told me) and I feel so grateful for her because I didn't have a clue about WLS.
It was the first time we saw each other since surgery and she was so happy for me, we were gigling a little while talking aboyt our McDreamy (our cute and talented surgeon) we really like him. And the sleeve has changed our lives completely, in the better condition. :-)
