    INTO 5 WEEKS OUT

It's August 30th and I had my sleeve surgery on July 22nd. Weighed 320 then and weighed 340 two weeks before the surgery. Am at 275 now for for a total loss of 45 pounds since surgery date. Feels good to have dropped so much weight in so little time. Still not hungry very often and starting to eat some solid food. Feels great to throw away big cloths. Not buying much for new cloths till next month when we go back to Maine from Alaska. Goal is to be around 240 or less by Christmas time

    Mexico or not

I had mine on Juy 23rd with Dr. Ortiz in Mexico. Like others my insurance company doesn't pay. Even with folks who have insurance that does pay they have to jump through 100's of hoops. Remember folks, insurance companies make medical decisions not Doctors. Just like having a 12 year old change the transmission in your car. all went well and I continue to loose weight

    Day one - Surgery

Well It's exactly three weeks to the day since mu "life changing" operation with the sleeve. I weighed in this morning at 295 for a weight loss since the surgery of 25 pounds and a weight loss since the pre-op liquid diet of about 45 pounds (started out then at about 340). I feel GREAT and no pain to speak of. Starting to eat pureed food but still fill up quick. It feels like a miracle. I know I have to work at this contributing 100% on track effort. This is the first time I have broken the 300 pound barrier in 15 years. Some pain and a lot of burping after eating. I have started donating the 3xl and 4xl cloths to the local goodwill. I will never wear them again!!! I am gong to keep one pair of pants and my "Lighterme" t shirt along with my size 48 belt so that I can always see where I was. Going to wear baggy pants and shirts until I hit 270 then a few new cloths. My ultimate goal is 215. Back to visit in Maine from Alaska on September 18th. Want to be below 270 by then. Pray for my strength as I continue my new life. I will also be thinking and praying for all me fellow sleevers and other bariatric teammates. Sincerely, the Alaska Man
  4. I fully agree It is far from the easy way out I need to loose about 130 pounds My surgery was on July 22 I started at 335+ pounds and now just broke 300 Total of about 35 pounds It's not easy, still on liquid diet but so far so good. I am hoping to loose 100 pounds by Christmas. As a male I believe that it is a bit easier to loose the weight I have not been below 300 in over 8 years Hang in there all. It isn't easy but it works if you stick to the plan Chris

    Day one - Surgery

Today is my surgery day, July 22, in Tijuana Mexico with Dr. Elias Ortiz. I am very looking forward to an new beginning at 57 years old. My current weight is about 320 pounds. I will post my actual pre-operation weight after my surgery and pe-op weigh in. I am a bit anxious but very excited for my new life to come.
