nikkiilynn reacted to Ginger Snaps in No food feels good
I'm 7 weeks out and haven't had any food problems at all (except for two little episodes with dry chicken popping right back up). But, for the past 3-4 days, I just haven't wanted to eat anything because nothing sits right. Everything I eat just kind of feels 'heavy' or 'yuck' in my stomach. I haven't been sick but it's like the stage just before that.
Anybody else have this suddenly pop up after no problems? I'm not getting enough Protein because I just don't feel like eating. I'll call my surgeon if it keeps up but I'd like to know if other people have had something like this.

Congratulations Casey999 on your choice to live a healthier lifestyle! It is so normal to be nervous about the surgery, and almost odd not to be. All in all, I say trust that all will go well and you will soon find yourself on the loser's bench which is an awesome place to be!
I had my RNY on the 8th of this month, and sadly, I also experienced unsupportive reactions from people I considered friends. I leaned that some of their negativity was based in fear (will I still want to be friends with them or would my attitude change and no longer want to be around them), or based on jealousy (some people simply don't like it when you make a choice to improve and actually take the steps to do it). You can't do much about either situation because they are choices THEY are making. Hopefully over time, those who worry about losing you as a friend will come around by asking questions and getting to understand that you, as your core person, will hopefully be the same. Those who are jealous and mean, don't share anything with them. They will seek out opportunities to find fault in what you're doing and capitalize on challenges you may face. Focus on you and your success and everything (and everyone) else will fall right into place.
    All the best tomorrow! :-)

Strictures are a possibility, but not everybody gets them, I didn't. It is a complication that is easily corrected. Surgery is scary, even for those of us that have a good support system. It is very normal to be nervous. I am so happy that I had my RNY! In the past year I have lost 205 pounds, my life has changed in every way, and all in positive ways. I am actually LIVING my life again. It's wonderful! Don't let others negative attitudes effect you. In a year, I hope you too will be looking at your life saying that this was the best decision you have ever made!
    Best of luck!

I'm looking forward to looking outwardly as I feel inwardly and learning how to take care of me instead of hiding by taking care of others.
I have a tough time drinking 64 oz of liquid a day so far. My Breakfast shake goes well into lunch before I'm finished. Unsweetened applesauce and sugar free Popsicles help take off the pressure and count as Fluid, especially in Fl.
I wanted to do something special for my 40th birthday, taking control of my weight was it.
Kudos to you for making the decision as well, we deserve to be healthy and happy.
Claiming the name greyeyedslim, hopefully with the body to match in a few months.

Hi ladies came home yesterday from surgery had it June 25th. All went well had a big blood clot but he was able to seal it off. I am a Jehovah witness so he was very careful. He told me that my some parts of my stomach was unfolding, he had placated my stomach. Thst was the reason I was in so much pain. Thank you all for the prayers. All in all little pain and so far no trouble dring my fluidd.

I'm sorry they put this road-block in your way, but you CAN do this! Eat small meals every 3-4 hours. It'll boost your metabolism. Start now with eating fewer carbs and getting in plenty of quality protein! You have to wait the 6 months anyway. You may as well be using that time to get the excess weight off! Drop the defeating self-talk! Stay positive and keep coming on here for support! I have faith in you. You CAN do this!!

So I am starting my WLS journey and have all ready hit a road block. The only hospital that takes my insurance will not operate on anyone over a 60 BMI. Mine is 74 and I will have to lose 70 lbs before I get the surgery. It seems daunting, so much that I don't even want to continue on the journey because it will take so long and I will have months of extreme hunger trying to lose enough weight.
I have been under anesthesia before at this weight and never had an issue.
I understand it's their policy and as such I don't want to change it, just that for me 70 lbs seems impossible. I have never lost more than 60 lbs before in my life. I'm hungry ALL the time no matter if I just ate or not, surgery is the only thing that will stop it.
I'm sorry i'm being so negative i'm just now so deflated after finding this out. I have my first appt in 2 days. It is 2 hours away from me. I all ready have to wait 6 months because of insurance and I'm fine with that, but losing 70 lbs will take me at least a year if not more (or never).

I have had bad gas for 2 years post op. Nothing dietary seems to help. I should have bought stick in gas x before starting this journey with the amount I buy now. I also buy Devrom which helps with the smell. My husband does not allow me to run out of those.
