MarieMarie replied to CherieRyde's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went through my clothes this weekend. It is fun to shop in my own closet. Sad when some favourites are too large -

MarieMarie replied to Lap_Band_Evelyn's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I am still hoping for the 18's. I have a full wardrobe at that size. I don't remember leaving it behind. Sure will be nice to return. 16 will be next. 14 would be a miracle. -
What was your start weight & why lap-band?
MarieMarie replied to erika00000's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I hadn't weighed myself in years. I was scared of any major stomach surgery. When I heard of the slimband, I knew it was for me. The weight loss is slow and steady. My pre op was 297 and I had probably lost some in the previous weeks -

MarieMarie replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
ALL of the above. I actually almost had to sneak away to get my lapband. I haven't even admitted to it with my family or closest friends -
One year -- then and now
MarieMarie replied to JustWatchMe's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Congrats and thank you for sharing. Having chosen the slow route to wls with banding myself. I sometimes feel discouraged as the weight doesn't drop off. I have to work hard for every pound -
I have the best of both worlds. My son has a dog living with me. I get the love and no responsibility. After a lifetime of pets and kids, I needed to focus on my health and social life for a bit

I worked so hard in September. My weight is going down 1.5 or 2 a week. I don't want to complain as it is heading in the right direction -
Banded yesterday????
MarieMarie replied to MamaRita's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a medium hernia repair with my band. Tried to work two weeks post op. Went home for another week and felt great. Lots of walking. No lifting. 8 weeks post op now. -

Slow weight loss
MarieMarie replied to MarieMarie's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Slow weight loss is hard. This is why I only told two people in my life I had wls. Even they keep expecting me to drop huge amounts per week -
I just want to cry
MarieMarie replied to bitter42's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
You are also turning fat into muscle which weighs more. The muscle will help you burn calories and you should start losing again -
Congratulations. Enjoy the journey

The bandages came off with the first shower. Two days after surgery. The steri strips stayed on for 7. Took me a lot of scrubbing to get the gum off my skin. One stray stitch hung around so I had my family doctor give it a tug. I couldn't bring myself to do it
