  1. I am six months out and cheating way too much as well. I found out I don't dump and that is a bad thing because I can eat sweets and must stop. This is a great discussion.
  2. I ate too fast tonight. I had surgery on 12/18 and this is the first time I have been sick. It was not fun.
  3. I will be free to eat on Friday as well and I am nervous as well. We can do this.
  4. You have a great daughter and a beautiful ring. Peace Laura
  5. Have fun, start with a 2x and then just try on down from there until you find your right size. The smaller clothes are the fun part of all this hard work. Peace Laura
  6. I am two weeks out as of today and I have a new issue, I get queasy when I get up and do things, like take a shower and get dressed. I am concerned because I was planning on going back to work on Monday. Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas? Peace Laura
  7. I am two weeks out and have some of the same issues. I have started setting the timer on my phone and I eat something every two hours. I am hoping this will up my calorie intake and give me more energy. Good luck to all, and we are all going to make it through this phase. Peace Laura
  8. This is truly a new year and new life for many of us and it will be a new year for those with upcoming surgeries. Good luck, prayers and best wishes to all. Peace, Laura
  9. Yes, mine hurts. I don't carry weight in my rear, but I think that is where I am losing and so there is no padding. If I could only move some of my stomach to my rear things might be better. Laura
  10. Every surgeon is different. My surgery was one week ago today and I have been moved to puréed, including eggs. I get to move to soft food next week. I have had no problems eating or drinking Water. I am not hungry and I set a timer to eat and drink and I eat less than 1/2 cup at a time. I eat lots of Greek yogurt which is a great way to get a lot of Protein. Good luck and Happy New Year. Laura
  11. I am 3 days post op and what hurts is the hernia they found and repaired. I have walked, have had no problems with any foods and can sip water all the time. I hope my recovery continues like this.
  12. I am one day post op and am already at home and I understand your pain. So far I have not found a painkiller that works. Sitting down getting up are the worst and I'm not even thinking about lying on the bed because I never would get up. I think we just have to hang in there until our bodies adjust.
  13. I take it now pre-op, but I am supposed to take it for six months after.
  14. If you are diabetic your vision may change when your sugar becomes normal after surgery. I would wait until a few months after. Peace Laura
  15. I am right there with you. My surgery is the 18th and I am beyond tired of protein shakes. We can do this and the prize is almost here.
  16. Did you have much pain and did the hydrocodone help?
  17. My husband just picked up all the post op prescriptions I was given yesterday at my final pre op visit with the surgeon and the pain med is in pill form, is that right? Am I supposed to crush it if I need it? It is hydrocodone. Also the antacid is in pill form. Now my surgeon lets you start swallowing pills at one week, so maybe I don't start some of these things until the one week, but I would have thought I would need the pain meds right when I got home. What did y'all get? Peace Laura
  18. I start my pre-op diet this Thursday and I am just thinking about how every time I eat something that I will not be able to eat, how it is the last time I will be able to eat it. However, I can't wait.
  19. Good luck and good thoughts and prayers.
  20. I start my diet on Dec. 4. I dread it, but I know it is important.
  21. I am not having a revision, but I am having the gastric bypass because I have a fatty liver and this should resolve it. The weight I have lost preop has brought my enzyme numbers to almost within the normal range.
  22. Dr. Garth Davis of "Big Medicine" fame advocates for a vegan diet. He is a vegan himself. You can look him up on Facebook and get lots of information.
  23. My surgeon has us do 5 shakes per day and that is it. My date is December 18 so I start my liquids sometime after December 1.
