October 2014 sleevers check in please!
My Dr. said its expected and to just gets liquids in. Protein shakes give me the worst tummy ache and nausea. He added phenergan today and I feel a little better. Just taking it one day at a time. I don't take any pain meds and would consider this an easy recovery if I didn't have so much nausea.

October 2014
I was sleeved on the 28th. I have persistent nausea and intermittent vomiting. Making it very difficult to get even water down. I'm taking Zofran 4mg every 6 hours. With very little relief. My doctor gave me scopolamine patches also. Has anyone else experienced nausea like this?

October 2014
Is there someone you trust enough to tell so that they can support you through this? My surgery in on Tuesday and the reality of it all just set in. I know this will not be easy to adjust to but it's what I need for me. I told my loved ones last night that I needed there support because the first few weeks might be difficult for me. Always remember that you have all of us on this forum for support as well. At least we will be able to relate to your experience with weight loss surgery. Please keep us updated on how your doing. ????????

10/28/14 surgery, who is with me?
My surgery is on 10/28/14!! I would like to stay in touch with you on this life changing journey!! I live in Binghamton, NY and will arrive at the hospital at 7:30am on Tuesday. It was such a process to get this far. I guess I can't believe it's really going to happen. It really hit me last night that my relationship with food is over. Now I'm focused on applying what I have learned. Support during this journey will be a must. Some very strong and determined people have posted their experiences and it truly helped me to set realistic expectations and goals. So I'll be here anytime you need that encouragement, to compare experiences or just someone to listen. Good luck to you!!

How are you doing with your pre op diet? My surgery is the same day and I find the pre op diet harder to stick to on the weekends when I have my down time.

Newbie looking for Oct sleevers!
Everyone's Dr. Is different. Mine wants 2 weeks on 2-3 protein shakes and a lean protein, veggies, and no more than 80g of carbs per day. For a total of 800 cals per day. Nothing after midnight the night before surgery.

Newbie looking for Oct sleevers!
I'm going to Dr. Pallapothu in Binghamton, NY. I find the semi liquid diet challenging especially on the weekends. During the week i seem to do better since my job is so demanding.

Oct. 3rd is when my paper work will be submitted to my insurance for prior authorization. I'm just trying to stick to the diet a weight gain is the only thing that can postpone my surgery. Is anyone months out from surgery?
I just had my initial appointment on July 18th. So l'm looking at mid October to early November if everything goes well. I'm going to my first support group tonight at 6pm and I see the nutritionist on July 29th. I know this is the right decision for me. I just dislike the whole idea of having surgery and going through the recovery period. I will be happy to gain control of my eating habits with the tools that this surgery will give me. I am glad to have found this forum to share with others that are making the same changes as me.
