  1. That's a good idea Boo Boo Kitty! I am a novice seamstress at best, but think I will try this as I start moving down in sizes. I do have a few items I dread the thought of getting rid of, so this might work!
  2. I thank puberty for my extra pounds. Until then (around age 12) I had been pretty average in size, although tall. Then came hips and boobs and all those other wonderful curves that make us female. From there, the only way to go was up, up, up.
  3. Hi Linda and welcome to LBT! The only stupid question is the unasked one, so ask away!! Good luck!
  4. Hi Nuali and welcome to LBT. Good luck on your Band journey!
  5. Hi Betty! Thanks for sharing your story. LBT is a great place for information and support. Good luck to you!! And by the way....KASEY KAHNE RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:crying:
  6. Hi Brian and welcome to LBT! Your surgery date will be here before you know it and you will be on your way to a healthy new self. Good luck!
  7. Congratulations on your date!! It won't be long now! Woohoo!!!!!!!!!! :crying:
  8. We are getting ready to start a support group in my town and I am going to try to start a clothing exchange along with that. I know I have a load of professional type clothes that I will be moving back into and probably out of pretty quickly that I would hate to just get rid of. I think (hope) a lot of people could benefit from it.
  9. They told me when I went in for my pre-op testing that I would have to pay my deductible before surgery, $500. I paid part of it at that time and can pay the rest right before I go in. I am hoping for my rebate check too.LOL I have Anthem BC/BS of Georgia. Good luck!
  10. Congratulations on your date, Dawn! Good luck and keep us posted on your progress!
  11. No pressure there, huh?:crying: I bet you will do fine. A lot of people can lose that much in water weight virtually over night! Good luck and let us know how it goes!
  12. Since your doctor has not specifically prescribed a diet, look around on the boards and there are loads of ideas here based on what other doctors are doing. Sounds like you are off to a good start! Good luck to you!
  13. What a cool thread! I won't miss: *Heartburn!!!!!!! *ill-fitting clothes *squeezing into chairs with arms on them *asking for the seatbelt extension on airplanes *going through drivethrus at restaurants because I am too ashamed to actually walk in *the snickers and snide comments of teenage boys who STILL make fun of me even though I am an adult *the embarrassment of going to public swimming pools in a bathing suit
  14. Hi Erin! Sorry to hear about your suffering now, but at least your doctor has located the problem and you are on your way to having it fixed. Good luck and let us know how you are progressing.
  15. Hi Stacy and welcome to LBT! You have really done awesome! Congratulations!! I look forward to hearing more of your story and getting to know you.
  16. Hi Emily and welcome to LBT! Good luck on your Band journey. This site is a great source for information and support. Good luck to you and keep us posted on your progress!
  17. Good luck today to both of you and welcome to the waiting game! My paperwork went in Monday.
  18. I agree with everything everyone else has said, but also, stick with that support group! Support is VERY important in this whole process. No matter how many well-meaning friends and family members surround you, they don't know where you are unless they have walked in your shoes. This site is also a great source of support. Here, you can find the answer to even the most humiliating questions and know you won't be judged. We are all in the same boat, understand where you have been and know where you are going. Pick yourself up and get back with the program!! This whole process is one day at a time. Good luck!
  19. Hi Shannon! Congratulations on your early surgery date! It sounds like you have a lot to be excited about in your life. Good luck to you and keep us posted on your progress! Are you doing a pre-op diet of any kind?
  20. Hi Melanie! So Tuesday is your day...CONGRATULATIONS!!! I am still pre-op, so no advice to give about how to handle the nerves. Just wanted to say hi and wish you a good luck!
  21. Hi! Sounds like you are diong GREAT! Good luck and keep us posted on your progress!
  22. Kelly! I just looked at your stats...40 pounds down in the 2 months since surgery?? You go girl!!! That really is awesome. You are doing great!!
  23. So basically, you are two weeks away from having surgery. Has that idea hit you yet? Are you excited???
  24. Hey Allison!! You have a LOT going on the next couple of days, don't you?? Good luck with all the tests and let us know how it goes! You'll do great, I know it!
  25. Some even said they wore ankle weights under their clothes!! But as I have said before, if it meant the difference between having my surgery covered or not, I think the list of things I would try would be a pretty long one.
