Could you post the information regarding the dates and location for Houston pleae. I did a search but couldnt find it. I did find a bariactric cruise for next spring, anyone from the forum going on the cruise?http://bsciresourcecenter.com/SGLUpdates/BariCruise_Flyer.pdf
I would love to go on the cruise, but just don't see how it would be financially feasible for me from South Carolina. That would make for one expensive vacation!
Have you heard about the Lighten Up expo in Atlanta in January?

I switched to mineral make up about two years ago.....my skin looks and feels so much better.Initially, I used bare minerals, but switched to Everyday Minerals about a year ago....cheaper and I like the coverage better. Downside is they are only available online.....BUT you can order samples to help choose a color!!
I ahve never worn mineral make up but have been curious about it and hated to spend $15 or more just to try it and possibly not like it. I went to the Everyday Mineral site and it looks great! They have a free sample kit that only costs $3.13 for standard USPS shipping. I can't wait to try it. Thanks Harley!!

Broccoli is one of the most common problem foods for bandsters. The tops are ok, but the stems won't go through. That was the first food I got stuck on. Just thought I would mention that little tidbit.
Good luck!

Also keep in mind that you are still pretty swollen in there, so that may be effecting what you see at this point. Mine sticks out somewhat too, but no one would notice and I am expecting to have a revision eventually. My port is on top of the lower part of my rib cage, so pretty close to the surface, but much easier to find for fills the nurse says.

I have had 2 fills and am at 6.5 cc's in my 10 cc band. I go for another fill today. I have lost 40 pounds so far, but am not yet at my sweet spot and am hoping to get a little closer today. I know it will take some tweeking as I lose, but it is going to be SO worth it!
Good luck!

How are things, Sylvia?
My current DH also travels for his job and has also cheated, both when out of town for business and when out of town with his band. His problems? Ego and low self-esteem. We have stayed together and worked through things, but the trust is still not as absolute as it once was. This is mainly because of me. He hasn't done anything to make me doubt him in almost 2 years, but I am still hesitant. It hurt and deeply and that takes time to get better. I do love him though and I know he loves me, so to me, it is worth it to stay together and try to make it better. Now if it happened again, I wouldn't be so willing to.
As for the lie detector test, I don't put much value in them. As the daughter of a former cop, I was raised knowing how the results can be schewed and was told from a young age never to take one because of that. You already know the truth in your heart.
That said, I say go with your gut. I know for me, the only times in my life I have regeretted a decision I made was when I blatantly disregarded my gut and ended up hurt because of it. That's not always easy to do. Talk to your therapist one on one too. They might shed a little light on the subject as well.
Good luck.

I met my hubby of 9 years online too!
Good luck Chrisann. It can be hard being "out there", but you are worth SO MUCH more than what he was willing to invest in you. Keep us posted on how things are going!

"sh*t or get off the pot" for him!!! KatKat, you are too funny! You are the only other person I have ever known to say that. My kids think it is the funniest saying ever!

5 pounds in 2 weeks? That's GREAT!!! Congratulations! Sorry your incisions are bothering you though. Hope that gets better soon. Fill day will be here before you know it. Good luck!

I had my second fill last week and now have 7cc's in a 10 cc band. I am down a total of 35 pounds since surgery 6/18. Glad everyone is doing well!

It is definitely normal to only have minimal weight loss until you find your "sweet spot". I was banded 6/18/08 and had my first fill 8/5/08. My doctor was very conservative with that first fill, only adding 1.5 cc's to the 2 he put in at surgery. I was still feeling a LOT of hunger and only lost .5 pound in the month before my 2nd fill on 9/2/08. He added 3.5 cc's then and I can now see a total change in my eating habits and weight loss. I have lost about 1 pound per day since then. Just be patient and try not to get discouraged. When you feel hungry, eat, just try to eat "good stuff" instead of reaching for a cookie or something. It may take several fills (and possibly unfills) before you reach your sweet spot and start seeing the difference.
Good luck!

Hi Marek!
I have had my surgery, but it wasn't paid for by the state. Fortunately, my dh's insurance covers WLS, so I didn't have to fight the state about it. That being said, since I am a state employee, I have been trying, although rather unsuccessfully at this point, to start lobbying the state about reinstating WLS coverage. My thought is that at the very least they could provide a rider to our current coverage that could be purchased separately by those wanting the surgery. That way, people who want the coverage can pay for it and those who would never use it won't have to pay a higher premium to provide it for those who want it. The way our policy is right now, you aren't going to be able to get any WLS covered.

Maybe he is just feeling awkward because he did take the chance and "crossed the line". You are both adults and since anything that happened was consensual, it really shouldn't be a big deal, but he may still be embarrassed. Give him a couple of days to work through his feelings about it then give him a call if you haven't heard from him. He may just need to know that YOU are still okay being friends. Good luck!

Since I work weekends at the county library, we get first dibs on the coupons from the 2 newspapers we subscribe to, plus I usually buy the local paper too. Lots of coupons!!

My husband says I am going to Atlanta no matter what. That is the week before my birthday, so I am hoping he will go with me and we can make a bit of a celebration of it. It is only about a 4.5 hour drive to the airport area for me and with the special deal on the room, you really can't beat it.
