OMG! Sorry for the rough start...did your doctor discuss with you prior to surgery that this was going to be an outpatient surgery?? This is a very serious surgery for a couple of days of observation, before releasing a patient. Not trying to be negative about your medical team....but was this the best decision to release a patient so soon??

Welcome aboard!! I too came aboard a couple to few weeks ago. This forum is AWESOME!! You can get some good pointers from our peers. I will have my surgery on next Wednesday (7/30) and I found (for me) I tolerate the pre-made (protein) shakes. I have a problem with the after taste that some of the various powders leave. However, I am ordering UnIjury products today (powder shake/chicken broth), because I hear such great reviews. Use any powders is what my doctors office informed me. Good luck!

Hi Laceyface, I too have my surgery on July 30th!!! What a journey. The "diet" is for liver shrinkage. Therefore, beneficial to us before/during surgery. I feel your pain. But in the long run we will benefit. Hold strong!!

Hello All, I had my pre-op testing on Monday (7/21). All went well!! Now on the "diet" to help shrink the liver, until 7/29. Already lost 11 lbs. Hopefully, I will lose a couple more b4 surgery. Lots of great emotions! Ready for my "new start". Wishing everyone else out there GREAT success with your surgeries to be and speedy recoveries. Well, see you all on the blogs!! fccm04 As stated in my previous posts, I would contact the doctors office to get the medical answer you need. If they responded "Tylenol only" during post - op, then that is your FINAL answer and better route to go. Follow doctors' orders!!
