  1. Retirement Party today! Eight more working days....starting a new chapter in my life. Lots of mixed emotions...I have worked since I was fourteen years old! Might finally have time to do all the things that I just couldn't get around to!

Congrats on your retirement, sounds like you have earned it!

  2. Cleaned out my closet this past weekend. Three large black trash bags full of clothes that I no longer intend to wear. I have all sizes (the ones I may lose and wear again some day)! Advertised on Social Media that I would meet on a parking lot and give them away. I pray that I can help another woman in the community that is struggling. Maybe some new clothes will give them the encouragement they may need at this time. I have a problem with shopping and they are all nice clothes....just hope it makes their day!

Giving away all those too big clothes is alot of fun isn't it ? Nice of you to help others out too ! Go you !!!

  3. Went to my PCP yesterday.....I am now off of all of my diabetes medicine...YEA! I have one more medication to get off of and then I only have to take thyroid and my vitamins...YEA! I broke down and bought smalled pants. Was not going to buy anything because I have a closet full of clothes I have been dragging out and wear again for the "First" time but it feels so good to have on smaller pants and pants that fit!!!

That is awesome!! I see my pcp tomorrow for the last time before surgery on Tues, the 18th.....the time has gone by so fast, can't wait for it to be behind me so I can start on my new adventure!!

  4. Happy! I have been on a stall forever!!!! I have been real sick with upper respiratory infection. I guess it took this to break my stall!

Sorry you were sick! Feeling better now?

  5. I am SO SO SO confused!!!! From day one the doctor told me I was having a revision!! He was going to do a combination of a bypass and DS because of my BMI. So since June I thought I had a DS... (surgery was actually done by another doctor in his office)....today I found out that I had a Malabsorbtion Bypass and no DS???? So all the study and research I did on the DS was in vain!!!!! He told me that the reason I was doing the DS was that the greater percentage of weight loss and the lower percentage of likely hood to gain it back!!!! Right now I am just numb!!! I have a call into his office to find out why??? and why I wasn't told???? This may make sense as to why I still can eat!!!!

  6. Nine weeks out and I still cannot eat. I may can eat one day and then it will be several days before I can eat again. One thing I have discovered is that I cannot eat anything with spice???? I have always loved spicey food, but just plain black pepper just sets my stomach on fire?? I made squash casserole and baked boneless chicken thighs yesterday.....all I could taste was black pepper....just one bite and that was all I could handle. I have been on a long stall......was told I was not drinking enough water and not eating enough. I cannot drink anything at least 30 minutes before I eat and at least 30-45 minutes after I eat. So it is either eat or drink? Been trying real hard to get my water and protein in, but I just cannot eat??? NUT said I should be eating at least a half cup by now.....but that is not happening ... the only thing I can handle is soup??? Any suggestions???

The drinking thing is for all the other WLS, not for DS. If you need to sip to help settle things in your stomach you are welcome to do so. I have been and have been advised by vet dsers that it's perfectly fine. The Nut told me the same thing and it's not for us. Many people cannot handle chicken, have you tried baked fish or even tuna with lots of mayo? I've found guacamole to be very comforting to my tummy. Are you on the FB support group for Lubbock? LADS? It's for anyone in Lubbock that had the DS, we meet monthly and they have tons of advice. You have to be careful with the advice you get here as the DS is the least known and the most misunderstood of them all.

I can't sip.....If I drink anything at all when I do try to eat...It is like a overflowing pipe.....it comes right back up. I tell everyone that I foam like a mad dog.....LOL

And you had the DS? I would contact Barker ASAP, sounds like you may have a stricture. At this point you should be able to eat and drink fairly normally.

  7. Just saw something that I have to try. Cauliflower tortilla!! the cauliflower was grated to rice form mixed with an egg......looks so good!

  8. I already have 100 grams of protein in this morning...YEA! I stopped and got a Herbalife Chunky Monkey (35 grams) plus extra protein (5 grams)...added GenePro (30 grams) Herbalife tea ...added another scoop of GenePro (30 grams)....got it going this morning!!!!

  9. Trying my best not to obessed by the scale. I haven't weighed in two weeks. I have tried to focus on letting my body heal and getting my protein to the right level. Still cannot eat hardly anything. I have learned if I am going to eat I have to take a prilosec first. I know by my clothes that I am losing. Everyone tells me they can tell in my face that I am losing......I am just waiting until I walk in and they say they can tell in my rear that I am losing.....LOL
