  1. Bit of background, I was banded in February of 2009, surgery / post op have gone well. I have 4.5 ccs in a 9cc band. About 2 weeks ago, I got sick and vomited for most of the day(sorry for sharing). For 2 days afterwards, I struggled keeping Fluid down. As fluid got easier, I graduated to soft foods and am now back on solids for almost a week. I have always been on the side to "baby" my band... Now my problem... Since my "sick" day, I've had horrific heartburn (only time I've had that issue was with my gallbladder). I have removed all spicy/acidic foods and am still eating Tums like tic tacs. Heartburn is waking me up at night, I can also hear it hitting my vocal chords when I'm talking. I am also forever hungry. I went from eating about 1/2 to 3/4 cup 3-5 times a day to having to restrict myself to 1 cup - 6 times a day ( can still eat more, and i'm eating foods I haven't been able to tolerate well from the get go - before if I had a bite or 2 of toast, I would start to feel it stick, now I can eat the whole slice . I am forever burping and have a slight pain on the left side of my band which isn't the normal stuck / ate to much / gas pain for me. I am currently away for work for another 2 weeks, and about 3 hours to the nearest doctor that would be able to deal/understand the banding procedure. Anyone with any idea/insight? I'm trying to determine if I should ride it out until I return home, or cut work short to deal with it. Thanks

Not sure if I'm having slippage?

Follow up I went in to emergency Monday night where I was deflated. Xrays were taken and showed band positioning was correct. In the AM I went for a barium swallow and it appeared my stomach was "normal". Doctor thinks I just irritated it and by letting it rest it should heal itself. I was on liquids for 5 days, graduated to soft foods for the next few. So far so good. Next follow up in 3

    Is this normal?

Hang in there!! I was completely upset with myself - I gained 13 pounds in the 5 weeks between my surgery and first fill. The dietitian assured me that it was normal and my body was still adjusting / figuring out that it could burn fat as fuel instead of keeping hold of it, it wasn't long after that that I began losing weight.
  4. I find seasonal allergies play a big part in what I can tolerate. I know in the spring / fall with snow mold, pollen, harvesting dust, etc I have a more restriction than in the summer and winter even though my fills don't change. Taking my antihistamines / inhalers makes a slight difference. Stress also plays a part in what I am able to tolerate, must be something with tensing up? Who knows, sometimes they are just finicky!
