I'm down 16 lbs since July 9th, or down 10 from my first dietician visit on July 22nd. I'm supposed to lose 25 lbs before surgery.

I can wait to get to find a new passion (though cycling is already a passion and I've already done 75 mile rides). First off, getting from pre-op to post-op.

I can only imagine. It seemed to take forever to get from the seminar to my first appointment, but it seems to be going quickly since then! Though the multiple appointments have made it go fast...

Had my second dietician visit yesterday. She said that by the next time I see her (9/30), I will have all of my other insurance requirements met already. We will set a tentative surgery date and will schedule a meeting with the surgeon (in October).

I have read about people making ice cubes out of pickle juice... You get the flavor and the crunch.
I'm still very early in the pre-op process though, so I don't know if that would be surgeon approved.

Quest - that might actually be a cool idea...I cannot see why there would be a problem with that since it would be sugar free

I just had my consult today, but have minimal insurance requirements. I told them that I was hoping for late November and was told that was a very good goal. Fingers crossed that I hit the November goal!

I'm still pre-op but I had my gallbladder out almost 4 years ago. When I would have an attack, all they could ever see on the ultrasound was the sludge but when the surgeon finally removed it, I had a stone hiding that was almost the size of a nickel. Just because they don't see stones on the US, doesn't mean they aren't possibly hiding.

I have a list of questions, the info from my insurance company regarding requirements (I asked them specifically about my policy), a list of goals (fitness related), and I've started making a few changes. I plan on hitting the ground running after my appt on Tuesday (hopefully).

Yep, and I haven't even had my first official appt yet. I've only had the seminar. But, I've done a lot of research, I know exactly what my insurance requires, and I'm trying to make some changes NOW. I hope that being well informed will help speed things up.
