I've been billed for my portion of pathology and anesthesia, from my Nov 13th surgery. I know I'll get something from the hospital. Will have to see what else comes in...

I have a nasty cough and sore throat and I was told that sugar free cough Syrup and sugar free cough drops are okay. Doesn't help you with congestion though...

@@Quest4TheNewMe I am only 9 weeks out and it's happened to me 3 times. I am eating normal food and not eating much, and I was never a puker, either. I'm wondering if certain foods just don't agree with me? Your lack of slimes/vomiting makes me wonder if I'm doing something wrong.
That's a bummer! Are you making sure to eat slowly and chew really well? Otherwise, I'd start tracking it to see if you can find some sort of commonality... Specific food? Situation?
Since it isn't happening very often, I wouldn't think it would be due to some sort of medical issue, but of course it never hurts to consult your surgeon.

I never have, but I'm only 7 weeks post-op. Though, I am eating regular foods. I've never been much if a puker though...

I was November 13th.
I'm down 25 lbs since surgery and 68 lbs since I started this whole process in mid-July.

I was in a size 14 in 7th grade. I'm now wearing a size 14 (6 weeks post-op). It's crazy to think I'll be in smaller sizes soon... This is the least I've weighed in 15 years.
I'm right there with you!!

I had a similar issue and my NUT told me to up my calorie intake a bit and to make sure I was getting enough Water.
-
I've told everyone who has asked that I an doing high Protein, low carb, low calorie (truth ) and that I've been working on it for a while (truth - since July), but people seem to just starting to notice (truth).

I was sore for a solid month, which my doc said was normal. Then, suddenly one day I woke up and felt totally fine.

At my one month appt, I told my NUT that I was only getting around 400 calories (on a good day) and she said that was totally fine.
-
Congrats!! With any luck, I'll be there in the next couple of weeks (for the first time in 15 years).
-
I was 6 weeks post-op yesterday and other than trying to make sure I drink enough Water, I feel back to about 99%. Call your surgeon... At least make sure it's nothing serious!

I've eaten out a few times (and I'm just over 5 weeks out). I either order chili or an omelette. I think that maintaining healthy social relationships is important too.

My nutritionist encourages everyone to be getting their Protein from food at 8 weeks on out, but I was making smoothies/protein drinks for breakfast before I even considered WLS since it was the only way I could get breakfast in before my morning workout. Anything heavier and I couldn't keep it down. Now that I am post op and have such a small tummy it's even more helpful. However if you are doing well without, then by all means you should definitely keep doing what works.
@@Stevehud - how are you feeling post op? I looked up the Abouttime drink you mentioned since I'm always on the lookout for good Protein drinks. Sadly this one contains stevia so if you are allergic to it, stay away. BTW - the stevia plant is also in the ragweed family so people with severe sinus issues or ragweed allergies may have trouble with products made with it.
I was initially trying to find something I could drink on my hour commute to work, as breakfast, but since I don't feel hunger at this point I've just been waiting until I get to work and having a yogurt.

1 French = 1/3 mm
My doc used a 38 F.

What have you tried? My program gave me a list that's a page long front and back. I could copy it and post it.
I've tried Atkins Advantage (loved pre-op), Premiere Protein, Jay Robb, GNC Lean 25... I think that's it. My program actually doesn't recommend Protein Drinks, and I've been doing okay without them.

ummm, wait, what does hubby have to do with it? Have kids? I am ok with them...anyone else object?
or is it you need a ride? maybe one of us is near you... Just saying...
Sorry, yes, we have two kids. My 7 yr old would have been fine but my 3 yr old has the risk of being a disaster.

The only ones that I've really been able to tolerate are Muscle Milk, and my NUT doesn't support them...
-
Up until 1 month, even though I was on soft foods by that point, I was only supposed to be eating 1/4 cup. When I moved from clear liquids to puréed at 9 days post op, my serving size was 2 tablespoons.
-
Sorry, my hubby will be out of town... Still determined to make it one of these times though.

I went low carb about 4 months pre-op and haven't looked back since.
Sinus infection and antibiotics (TMI)
in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

I'm battling a lovely cold which has turned into a sinus infection, so I'm on antibiotics. I never really noticed any digestive "complaints" from taking antibiotics pre-op, but it's a whole new ball game now... Ugh! It almost reminds me of the pre-op bowel prep (sorry, TMI!).
Anything I can do/take to help reduce the effects?
