Protein powder help
Quest4TheNewMe replied to Quest4TheNewMe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I asked her about protein intake the first week and she said that it isn't necessary or recommended. All I had for 9 days was Water and broth... As I move ahead, I look forward to mixing a few other things into my shakes (spinach, etc). For now, my shaker cup and I are just going to have to have a dance party. -
Protein powder help
Quest4TheNewMe replied to Quest4TheNewMe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know, right?? I was really surprised, but she said it goes against their "rule" of all beverages being 10 calories or less... She said to just be aware of the calories in it (FIRST time she has ever mentioned calories as a consideration). She said that as long as I keep it around 150 calories she's okay with it. -
Protein powder help
Quest4TheNewMe replied to Quest4TheNewMe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have not tried them. I'm kind of hoping to find a powder so I can change up the flavors more easily (add PB2, maybe some sf flavorings, etc). I'll definitely keep those in mind though! -
It continues to get better day by day. I went back to work on day #8 and actually felt pretty good. Today is day #10 and I'm still moving a smidge slow but very happy to finally be on puréed foods, as of yesterday.
-
By one month out, I'll be on normal foods. I just started puréed yesterday, on day #9.

Did anyone NOT tell their job about surgery?
Quest4TheNewMe replied to VGB's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
One of your coworkers showed up bedside pre-op??? Wow... -

Quest4TheNewMe replied to karinm's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As of this morning, I'm only 20 lbs away too. We'll get there before we know it! -
I'm only 8 days out, but there has to be an alternative. No way would I even try the regular stuff now!
-
That sounds amazing.

I was sleeping on an incline until last night. Last night I slept flat on my back or tipped a bit to the right, but with a blanket balled up to support my tummy.
-
I'm on day #8 post op and just slept flat in bed last night. Now my back hurts. LOL!

Puréed phase?
Quest4TheNewMe replied to Quest4TheNewMe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow, that looks awesome!! I did get a binder at the start but it strictly addressed the various surgical options. They seem to be giving me the rest of the detail a little at a time. -
When You Realize You Really Are Changing...
Quest4TheNewMe replied to cmick14's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is me too. I'm now about a week post-op, so I'm curious to see if/when my mind and body collide. -
Puréed phase?
Quest4TheNewMe replied to Quest4TheNewMe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow, I'm impressed that canned tuna and canned salmon are on there! I was thinking that my options would be really limited but if my list is similar to yours, I should have quite a few options. -
Puréed phase?
Quest4TheNewMe replied to Quest4TheNewMe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep, the thought of eating baby food makes me want to gag. I don't have a problem making my own food into that consistency though. -
Puréed phase?
Quest4TheNewMe replied to Quest4TheNewMe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm sure she'll give me much more detailed info at my appt on Friday. I'm just trying to wrap my head around it ahead of time. -
Puréed phase?
Quest4TheNewMe replied to Quest4TheNewMe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks everyone! I'm looking forward to a little texture, but I know that Water goes down well and I don't want to find out that something else doesn't. LOL! What about refried Beans (thinned with a bit of water?)? Or is that a "soft food" stage kind of item... -

How long was your recovery
Quest4TheNewMe replied to aiso65's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had surgery last Thursday and I go back to work tomorrow. I'm a little concerned about getting tired, but otherwise I feel fine. ETA: Not to say I wouldn't mind another week or two off though... -
Hello! December 1 Surgery Date - Scared buy determined.....
Quest4TheNewMe replied to Soopie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was really nervous going into it too, and I had previously had two c-sections and my gall bladder removed. I had surgery last Thursday (11/13) and I was questioning my decision for the first couple days after, but not any more. I'm feeling more normal and looking forward to the months/years to come!! -
Hang in there. My surgery was on the 13th and I'm feeling more and more human each day. My "questioning what I did" was pretty much gone by day 3 or 4. I'm still on clear liquids, but feeling good about it.
-
I love the Atkins Caramel Cafe pre-op too!! I haven't tried anything post-op yet.

Are there any vitamins that taste better than Flintstones?
Quest4TheNewMe replied to nails211's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Me too!! Ha ha! -
My leak test was during surgery. I don't know if I'll have another one or not.
