    Psych appointment help

Just answer honestly. The psych told me before I took the test that we all have good days and bad days but to answer whatever was representative of "most of the time."

    Psych appointment help

I had to take the MMPI2, which was 567 multiple choice questions. It was very super basic (Which career would you rather have? Would you rather go to a party or stay home? Etc). I'm sure there are many different types of tests though.

    Any November Sleevers?

    I'm scheduled for Nov 13th.
  4. Ah, so not quite as close of neighbors as it appeared.
  5. I'm scheduled for Nov 13th. Based on your name, we're neighbors. I'm next door in the land of purple (though I don't watch football).

    November 17th sleevers?

I'm likely having the sleeve (but not 100% sure yet), and I'm scheduled for November 13th.

    St Cloud, Minnesota?

A anyone here from St Cloud, MN?
  8. I am 5' 4" and am currently in an 18. I wore a size 14 when I was 14/15 yrs old and was back there for a few months about 5 years ago (at 210 lbs), so my goal is to get down to a 12, though I would LOVE an 8 or 10. I don't know what weight that would work out to.
  9. Had my second dietician visit yesterday. She said that by the next time I see her (9/30), I will have all of my other insurance requirements met already. We will set a tentative surgery date and will schedule a meeting with the surgeon (in October).

    On track for November...

I have an official date!! November 13th. AND I've already met their weight loss requirement for pre-liquid diet. Meet with the surgeon on Oct 16th, pre-op physical and final testing on Oct 27th, pre-op diet starting on Oct 31st! Yay!! I'm also now leaning more towards the sleeve now...
  11. I went into this journey set on bypass. I like that there's a lot of history behind it and I also have a friend who had it about 9 years ago, who has been a great support person. BUT, now I'm seriously considering the sleeve... I like that there seem to be fewer potential complications and the hospital stay is shorter. My surgeon also most often does the sleeve... I hope to have more clarity after I meet with the surgeon in October.
  12. The same thing happens to me, or I'll even pop back up a couple of lbs and then all of a sudden one day I'm down a few pounds. Hang in there!

    Feeling discouraged..

I have to lose 10% pre-op too and I'm only about 7 lbs short after 2 months. Hoping to have surgery in about 6 weeks (final nut visit is on Tuesday). I'm eating high protein/low carb. I've been wondering if the 2-week liquid diet would be included in the calc or if I have to lose the full 10% before starting the liquid diet...
  14. At 25 lbs lost (my docs pre- surgery requirement), I plan on spoiling myself with a new purse. 6.5 lbs to go!! Once I hit onderland, I plan to buy myself a road bike (i have a cross bike right now). At goal I plan on plastics (depending what their requirements are), or sky diving with mother-in-law.
  15. As I've already said, I've been fine the last couple of months with avoiding all sweets. I'm not looking to cheat, I'm looking for the TOOL that has the greatest likelihood of helping to keep me ON track. I know what my weakness has been in the past. I'm going to resume my lurker status now and save my questions for my surgical team. Carry on.
  16. Great to know, thank you! I've done just fine since July 22, when I first started this process (down 20 lbs). I just want to have all the tools possible in order to STAY on track... I wasn't sure if the sleeve would be enough, but it sounds like it could be. Definitely something to discuss with my surgeon. Thanks again!
  17. Thanks for the replies everyone.
  18. I'm just afraid that tempting a little sugar is going to be slippery slope that will be hard to recover from. Sweets have always been my weakness. I'm trying to decide if the risk of dumping (to help keep me on track) will be better , or if the sleeve will be sufficient for me to stay on track and/or quickly get back on track...
  19. Yep, I understand that there's a lot more to consider and I'm hoping that once I meet with the surgeon I will have a lot more clarity. I just don't want to put myself through the surgery and then up not being as successful as I could be (I.e. I don't want to fail)...
  20. I also have ZERO comorbidities, but a Current BMI of 43... And I've ALWAYS struggled with my weight. Crossed over the 200 lb mark at 17 yrs old and haven't been back since.
  21. I also have a support person who ha rny about 9.5 years ago, so she would be able to relate... The nurse practitioner really seemed to be pushing me towards the sleeve though. That's also what the surgeon performs most often. I don't meet with him for the first time until October though (surgery planned for November sometime).

    MN - Minneapolis/St.Paul

Sorry, I can't make it on Saturday. I'm determined to make it one of these times...

    On track for November...

Thanks, it feels good to keep checking things off the list. One more meeting with the nutritionist, two more calls with my insurance phone coach, meet with the surgeon, and lose 10 more lbs.
