  1. Drink Water when you crave. You're not hungry. It's, in your head. If your not getting around real well yet then do a crossword or call a friend or listen to music. I'm 3 weeks out and having issues and mostly feel like crap every time I eat. So I don't even want to eat but then feel gross if I don't start a while so screwed either way. I still don't regret doing it . I just want to heal faster

  2. Stress of surgery, anything can give you hives, check with your dock and take some benedryl and get some oatmeal soap and a warm shower and relax. Stress from worry about all of this can do it too. I was crying this afternoon because I felt my husbands job didn't appreciate him enough. Your body is changing. I swear is like puberty again sometimes

  3. My surgery was the 2nd...my wedding anniversary was St Patrick's Day and my birthday is Saturday(congrats on your anniversary). Anniversary was not good....better luck next year for us. My birthday I hope to walk stopping the flea market. (I still get very winded quickly. I took the dogs out today for about a quarter mile and had to come back.

  4. I'm.the same way . I can eat 1/2 a pack of cream of wheat and a half of a banana and it has to be almost Soup like to get that in. I'm 3 weeks out and my stomach is the ruler. What it says goes. If I can't eat it I'm not. I'll save it for later. Right now we are still swollen inside. My stomach which loved Protein Shakes before cannot even stand a sip of them, anything with any artificial sweeteners.....um no! A as an experiment I haven't had any artificial sweeteners since last wed so I had a cup of sf jello...I ran to the bathroom in less than 5 minutes. And I took 2 immodium this morning and afternoon. I'll do my best and hopefully as I get better I'll get more in. I force the Water as it is.

  5. @@kyrickchick64 - Have you called/spoken with your doctor or nutritionist?

Yes she said I was having a problem with whey protein/artificial sweeteners and to try to get it naturally it's better than it was but some things just set me off. Especially my meds. I have to drive my son to work so I can't take them till late and I have to sit upfor at least an hour. food wise I'm finding my tummy is handling refried Beans and some shredded cheese. Fairly well. At least it's got Protein. I have an appt next week so we well revisit it then. I've always had stomach issues. I kinda knew this was gonna be harderthan I wanted it to.

  6. I'm 3 weeks out and feel worse than I did the first week.I'm trying to keep my Water going. I can usually keep food down but keeping it in is another story and Protein is so hard on my stomach. Vitamins bother me, my bp meds bother me, my pain and sleep meds make me so nauseated. I can't put anything in without running to the bathroom. Then of course it counteracts the water situation. I wish it would get better soon

  7. It's just getting to the point where no matter what I eat, from Protein Shakes to soft scrambled egg. I feel so gross after I eat,I don't want to eat anything. I eat slowly, and the right things but I'm either in the bathroom or I feel like I'm going to foam out and barf. And in the middle it sounds like something is going to pop out of my stomach like in the Alien movie. 3 weeks out I know isn't long but jeez you'd think id be okay for those things. And why does nothing taste the same still? And why do I want fish? I hate fish! Lol....still hanging in. Just wanted to vent. Thanks all

  8. Why is basic courteousness lacking online? Yes, I admit I have been in a few escalated discussions online but usually it was from a misdirected try at humor that didn't come across the internet or to someone who just wanted to inflict themselves on the world and I caved and I let them under my skin. We are in a forum to try to help each other. Being mean or judgmental won't help if you are newly healthy or looking for help to get there.

  9. Gas pain...walk, gas x strips and raise your arms and reach as high as you can and walk some more. The other pain will go away. Take some Tylenol is, you don't want the opiates. sleep as much as you can and drink when your not sleeping. If you can't eat the first week, tell your dr and keep drinking. I'm 3 weeks out tomorrow and today was my fist day really out and about(dressed in something other than sweats and a ponytail and wearing makeup AND jewelry! Go me lol) didn't want to but had to fake it to avoid a severe case of cabin fever. I'm lying in bed now just had some cream of wheat for lunch/dinner/whatever. Just do what you can when you can it's not a race is a marathon.

  10. @@Lacey Elliseal I know how you feel . I have cabin fever too. I had my surgery on the 2nd. I have lots of health issues that hopefully losing weight will help but there's no guarantee. I've been told no by disability tho I'm more than 70% blind and my back is screwed. But we trudge on because really? What other choice do we friggin have lol. I know you feel like crap me too, everything tastes like crap and if it doesn't it makes you feel like it afterward. I get it. You haven't lost enough to see it enough and you want results now. Okay PITY PARTY OVER FOR BOTH OF US!! We have beautiful children,a new lease on life we may even be lucky enough to see our grand children. Put on your favorite music...me anything 80s especially Rick Springfield or The Bee Gees. Turn it up loud! Just shift back and forth on your feet. You don't have to be ballerina just move a little. Hearing your favorite song can do wonders. Spring has sprung and it'll get to you soon. Depending how old your kids are play with them. My son is 21 so I play with my dogs. But that's okay I like their energy. Lol if your not up to getting out of the chair the just your legs or squeeze your but cheeks or stomach muscles a little. I bough some muscle bands at marshal for 5 bucks. You too k the hard step. Now just heal and shine
