  1. Relax you're still swollen inside. Call the doctor about your bm but really you haven't been putting much in so you probably can't expect much out. Just make sure your staying hydrated. I know if I don't, I get nauseous and feel like crap. Even now 6 weeks out. Try to get your Vitamins in. Please stop driving yourself crazy weighing yourself every day(or more;) ) it will make you insane. It will come of in due time. Your gonna be swollen for a couple weeks and you still have all the Fluid from the hospital in you. Just relax sweetie.

  2. You're okay. Lots of us go thru this. I've read that it's because the fat we are losing has estrogen (especially the stomach fat from what I've read) so we tend to be more hormonal. That coupled with the fact that this is a major surgery and your nervous about the future it's no wonder your emotional. Sip some herbal tea. Relax

  3. Pick yourself up , dust yourself off and put your big girl(hopefully soon to be smaller girl) panties on and start again. Donuts happen, next time get to the Protein Bar aisle before the bakery. Write this down. Protein Bars, shakes, beef or Turkey jerkey. Deli dept: Turkey, ham cheese roll up. salad from the produce dept. With ham cheese and Turkey from deli on it.

Lots of stuff in the store to eat the junk food was calling your name cause face it...the family was eating what they wanted...sorry. I know ive been there. This is your journey not theirs. What you see and feel on the other side will amaze you. My husband and son can eat any fast food in front of me. Doesn't faze me. I can eat so little that I don't want crap in my system. My one regret so far...I have lost my taste for coffee...I loved coffee...snif. I used to love Water. Not a fan of the taste anymore, drink it cause I have to. Weird. I'm 5 weeks out. I don't know if this will all change. But my pants are falling down...

  4. Hi there, you mentioned you were on a lot of prescriptions already. Depending on what those are for you may be off of a lot of them either right after or shortly after surgery. The list of my prescriptions was very very long pre surgery. Now I take two prescriptions, that is all!

I was able to get off of all reflux/heart burn medication, cholesterol medication, high blood pressure medication, diabetes medication and even one of my two Migraine prevention medications. I am actually ahead now in terms of costs as it relates to prescriptions. I buy my Vitamins from costco for the most part and on some I wait for the buy one get one deals at Walgreens.

I do the same with my Protein drinks which are ready made. They are called Premier Protein and you can get them at costco 2 cases for the price of 1. You just have to watch for them to go on sale and then stock up.

Also my food bill went down drastically so it all evens out in the end. Take a deep breath and try to to let anxiety get the best of you.

Good luck and keep us posted on your journey!

I'm gonna have to check out Costco. Premier is the only one my new tummy will keep on it one way or the other. Thanks for the heads up.

  5. Write down all your concerns to ask your doctor. Are they doing your surgery laparoscopicly? Need more info sweetie. JUST BREATHE.... I have the sleeve I'm doing okay but I'm a month out and I still don't feel great. But I'm losing weight! I think I'm not getting enough Water. Make sure you are hydrated. Start with basics right now. Ask your dr the questions that well apply to you cause we are all different. I had little to no pain for the surgery but I still feel crappy a month later. Everyone is different

  6. I have times in my life when I do/have taken anxiety meds. I've never had a problem coming off of them. I usually only used them a couple months at a time. The hardest ones were xanax tho. Those things are the DEVIL. Lol for me they're really great while I'm taking them but once I stop omg lock me in my bedroom and throw chocolate under the door. I become the most meanest snotty beotch EVER! I swear it's like I look at myself from outside my body and shake my head. I just wanna slap myself then I cry for 2 days and I'm good. Yeah it's not pretty

  7. I had the sleeve so it's a bit different but I also had no Cath, no drain but had the pump but it's not really a pain pump it numbed the stomach area like novacaine. I had iv dalaudin but the second it hit my stomach I wretched every time after the 4th time and after trying different opiates I told them I didn't want any whatsoever. And I was okay. And believe me I'm not one of those bite the bullet types but pain or puking? I'll take a little pain. I really think the pump thing did a world of good in that respect.

Btw even if you do have to have a tube by mouth they put you out first. No one wants to fight a patient trying to put a tube down their throat without unless it's an emergency situation. And getting it out isn't that bad. Count to 3 and it's over with maybe a sore throat but it won't go down that way for this type of surgery.

  8. I had my sleeve March 5th.

Is this ok? What are you early March Sleevers seeing in numbers?

I'm only three days out so I don't know, but good for you! That seems like a successful number to me! Keep up the good work & you will be happy with your loss.

My surgery was on the 2nd of March but I don't weigh myself at home. I lost 16 lbs the first week and my next appointment is April 8th. I will have to calibrate my home scale with my doctors this week. So I'll let you guys know where I'm at then.

  9. @@kyrickchick64 I am hoping to be approved for surgery with dr oldham. I submitted the paperwork last week. Glad to know you had a positive experience.

I would recommend him and his office. They are very efficient and super nice people. Dr Oldham was very attentive when I was not feeling well after surgery. He came in 3 times to check on me to figure out why I was throwing up every time something hit my stomach. I have my 30 day check up this thursday.

  10. I'm so sorry for you loss. I lost my brother Which was the catalyst for me to lose the weight. My brother was always active and a pillar of the community. Sometimes there is no rhyme or reason to these things it just happens. I've also lost both my parents in their early 60s. I'm in my 50a and to think that I only have 10 or 15 yrs left scares the crap out of me. Again my condolences for your loss.

  11. I had diarrhea after surgery every day. Contact your doctor. Mine allowed me Imodium. Come to find out after surgery I could not tolerate the whey Protein that I had been drinking for the past 6 months and also could not tolerate artificial sweeteners. (Which is pretty much our entire diet the first 2 weeks after surgery) I am using the premium protein products now(it took me awhile to find it since I'm one month out yesterday) like I said talk to your doctor because the diarrhea will dehydrate and you don't need that right now.

  12. For the first four weeks after surgery I felt sick every morning. I can only describe it as "morning sickness." That's what I called it. Now that I am eating more Protein instead of drinking it, I am feeling much better. Like BLERDgirl said, "no reason to feel bad every day." Call your weight loss clinic and explain what is going on.

That's where I am now. I feel like crap most mornings til just after noon. I still have to take anti nausea meds before I eat anything.

  13. Try ice chips, let them melt on your tongue. Don't worry about any thing else but walking and the ice chips. Everything else will come in time. I had issues not with the pain but with the iv meds. I vomited every time it hit my blood stream. I told them I wanted no meds at all. Honestly I felt better just after my surgery than I do now one month out. I'm still very queasy and seem to have more bad days than good. I have a follow up this week so I've got to discuss it all with my doctor. You will get thru this. We all will! We are strong and we made this decision knowing it wasn't easy but what we needed to do.
