  1. The pre-op freaked me out, but after a day went by I think it was just my nerves. The one thing that took me by surprise what that my dr wants me to give myself a needle in my stomach for 21 days after surgery to prevent blood clots. I get it but it came out of left field lol. I had to do a two week liquid diet which really was easy for me I lost 18 pounds in 12 days then the 13th day I had to post pone. BUT I am ready!! Good luck to you both!

I got the same thing. It's a teeny needle you'll be fine

  2. I started my 2 week diet on Sunday. I get nothing but Bariatric Advantage shakes 5 times a day. I have been making grilled chicken for my family so I have had 1 breast over the last 2 days. I feel bad but I have been having the worst heartburn and BAD tummy issues. Let's just say my husband is waiting for the cloud to dissipate as I am writing this. My stomach sounds like there is an alien in it. My head is pounding.. I know it's the low carb-ness kicking in cause I had it when I was doing Atkins but jeeze. I could eat then lol. Gotta keep thinking it's the poison leaving my body. My skin is breaking out too. I'm pretty cranky right now. Drove around town before and was craving McDonald's. I Hate McDonald's! I haven't eaten at mcds in 2 yrs but the little alien is telling me yeah, yeah yeah. Little bastard.

  3. I have had so many surgeries c section (morphine...the after video is me dragging my hand down my face like it was melting) gal bladder (vicodin) hysterectomy(diluidid/vicodin at home) hernia(vicodin) knee replaced x 2 different surgery(dilaudid/vicodin @home for like 3 months) and I'm getting a pain pump (not sure what's going in it)vicodin( home)for my sleeve. I doubt you will have a problem unless you have had a controlled substance problem before.

  4. My doctor s ofc is in the hospital so I went Thursday for my final preop visit and Friday afternoon started feeling bad I. Thought out was starting my shakes but I realize it's a stomach virus. I've been sleeping most of the day at least between bathroom trips. I haven't been able to keep much down but I ate some rice earlier and it seems to be okay. I really wanted to start my shakes early because of my bmi(50) since the doctor said it would make my liver better for surgery. Oh well I guess I'll just start tomorrow if I can.

  5. the past five days have been no fun. I had to go to er and get fluids. I had a swallow test that showed blockage. then I had some scope done yesterday where he opened something up more. I'm still throwing up so I'm hoping that's just old stuff. ive been on liquid for 5 days although it doesn't bother me. this all has been difficult.

I know I am a worrier too and it does suck. In two weeks you'll be telling me the same things I'm telling you. Hell yesterday was my first day of Protein Shakes and one meal and and I've feel like crap and have some bad diarrhea and sweats. It's 63 degrees in my house and, my night gown is soaking from the sweat. I'm just saying that working yourself up isn't helping, deep breaths and keep in contact with your doctor. He'll get it figured out. Take care sweetie. I have erratic hours so I'm around at different(weird) hours. If you need to talk.

  6. I'm March 2nd, not sure of the time yet, but I see the surgeon next week for my pre-op stuff hopefully they will give me my time then.

Seems like the closer I am getting to this thing the worse I am eating. It scares me a little, I am not eating a lot, but not very healthy and putting on some weight.

I am nervous about the pre-op liquids diet. Anyone else, just me?

My date is March 2nd too

I started it today I'm supposed to get 5 of these a day I can barely get 3 and, it has given me the worst gas already. Ugh. I've slept allot today. Also gave up coffee so I'm know that's not helping. But it will be better . I'll tough it out.

  7. I haven't had my surgery yet but even the 20lbs, I've lost on the mandatory diet has given me a stomach rash. I get the boob rash too. Make sure y'all point out any rashes to your doctor. A lift or tuck may be medically necessary and insurance may pay for it. One can only hope lol

  8. Ok immediately thinking the worst isn't helping. You need to breathe and relax. I know you are uncomfortable but getting stressed ifs just making that bile come up more. Try a clear Protein Drink, prop your pillows up, suck on a couple popsicles and try to relax a little. Thinking the worst doesn't help anything. You have just had a very major surgery it takes time for it to settle in.

  9. I would be having a problem with my primary. If he is saying yes it's a good idea but then won't stand up to the insurance company then id be finding a new dr. It's better to endanger your health until you are on drugs for co morbidities which is almost certain than to get it done before your body starts to shut down. Id find a new doctor to fight for me.
