Alcohol kill more people with the diseases it causes, drunk driving, fatal drunken fights, domestic violence than all drugs put together...and that's not mentioning broken homes, child abuse and permanate mental issues for children of alcholics

I deeply want to do this...I was for two years and got sick as I didn't know what I was doing. I need any help and info as I can. I had a sleeve done last October. I try to keep my carbs done also...any info woud be so greatly apprecuated!!!! Thank you

You wouldn't be normal if you didn't get nervous! Have an easy day....read or watch something you like. try to get a good nights sleep....you'll fly through...update us as soon as you can

I'm so so sorry you had complications...It really does get better...as far as how you feel. i had complications too, almost died. I was bleeding internally and my blodd pressure bottomed out...had to have blood and emergency surgery to fix it...extended hospital stay. i got home and was just miserable...I am feeling SO much better now...but i have only lost 5 pounds...went through all that and I've lost 5 pounds!!!!! people tell me it's my body healing it's self......so I will continue doing what I'm supossed to do and wait.....what other choice do I have? You can't "un ring" a bell LOL, you will feel better. I have a long time online friend that had major complications and she is now at goal, looks great and no regrests...though she said she did at first. I think it might be a phase we all go though...hang tough

Oh sweerie...been there. What flavor shake? I have mixed berry I get at Walmart, I put a container of blueberry greek fit & light yogurt in mine as well as a few squirts od berry Water Enhancer....still not the best, but it ups the Protein level..i am not crazy about powdered shakes either but really can;t afford to buy all premade. Just gotta do the best you can....for first few weeks it was bad for me, i had complications...i looked like a ghost, people kept telling me how awful I looked, I wasn't getting enough Protein for my body....and i was...am so sick of Water, which i used to love...I could scream. put something you like in it, I put a couple of tablesoons of powered milk..I like it sometimes i put carnations canned milk in it...just a bit.....and there a lot of different enhacers you can buy. I'm still dealing, it's such a learning process.

I'm not there yet for most of those foods...but has anyone tried hte "Turkey Bit" that in hte check out lanes? They're awsome....bought some for my hubby befoe surgery to keep in his big truck. They are vey high Protein, very soft with just a light touch of spice.

i certainly do not want to piss you off...but I would never do that to my hubby....you are going through major things right now and she should be supportive, and you need her right now to be there for you.....JMHO un...best of luck...maybe she read this thread

Don't know what you can eat based on your program, but early happy birthday. At your 61 next year you'll be able to answer this question so much easier, and do so while shopping for that smaller size birthday outfit!

This might sound silly, but maybe invest in something for yourself that you can use on your next birthday. This time next year you will certainly be down quite a lot of weight and your sleeve will probably be tolerant of just about anything you want to eat, even if it's only a few bites. Is there a really nice place you'd like to go for dinner? Buy a gift certificate this year (make sure they don't lose money in a year- most shouldn't) put it somewhere you know where it is, and really look forward to all of the things you will have to Celebrate next year. Chances are, all the food that you're sad about not getting to eat on this birthday, won't matter as much next year. Even better than a dinner gift card, maybe buy a skydiving pass or a gift card to a designer clothes store you can't shop in now or even a trip to a place where you may not have felt comfortable going before. Save that for your birthday next year and you'll get to look forward to it all this year.
I only eat chocolate for my birthday and Christmas because otherwise I will eat way too much of it. Every year I would look forward to that time and ravenously inhale chocolate. This year, I'm far more looking forward to wearing my new dress to dinner with friends, than I am about the chocolate cake I was craving last year. I'm also not worried about trying new things anymore because I don't feel like everyone is looking at how fat I am. Now I walk into designer stores and I know that most things will fit me and that the salesgirl isn't wondering what I'm doing in her store. Not getting to Celebrate your birthday with food this year just means that you will get to celebrate it with anything else you would like next year!

You CAN have ice cream as long as it's sugar free and sugar free Jello and pop sickles. In a couple of months you will be able to make your own cakes using stevia. Happy birthday.

Instead if making your special day about food, make it about you and your health! Go pick apples, see a play, go to a concert... Celebrations no longer center around what I'm going to stick in my face and they are much more memorable now.
