Try and do the reboot diet. They have info on it in the veterans forum. I did a modified version of it after the holidays because the sneaky little carbs were coming back with a vengeance. Remember to always do your Protein first and drink, drink and drink. Good luck.

Give yourself some time. You just had major surgery. The key to liquids is a little bit really frequently. No big drinks just almost constant sipping. You will find some liquids go down better than others. Some people like warm and others cold. Just experiment gently. You will be tired for a week or two. I went on vacation for a week to the mountains at 5 days post op but it is all very individual. Every day you are closer to a thinner healthier you. You go this

I am almost 5 months out and you can have those foods you want eventually. I don't eat a lot of those things because I choose not to! I like how I feel, I can do so much more now and the gratification I got from food doesn't compare with my new freedom. I eat out, I work fulltime, I have a family, I cook....I do all the "normal" things I just have a tool that makes it easier to make good choices. I have never mourned food because I have found that it is like an ex-husband, you don't miss it when it is gone and wasn't worth your time anyway.
I hope this helps calm your concerns a little bit.

Learning I love to hike in winter. Still searching for missing person. I've logged 36 miles plus in less than a week! I've gained 3 lbs but whatever. I'm hiking some stiff terrain and my clothing and hiking wear is adding all of 10 lbs.
