  1. @@Steph Jo 89084 I was having Breakfast with a coworker who had gastric bypass this morning and she shared that she was going to have her gall bladder removed. She had a gallbladder attack and after ultrasound the doctor determined it needed to come out. She mentioned having nausea leading up to the point if having to take meds. What recommendation did your doc make about your gallbladder?

    Revision:

Ahhh, just realized you said kidney stones and not gall stones!!

  2. I've been working from home this week, however maybe not the most productive. Was going to return to the office tomorrow but decided to delay until Monday. I'm a little overwhelmed/freaked out about going back to work. I also have to go back to class tonight (last MBA class) and everything feels overwhelming. Maybe because I had a bit of a set back this past weekend and I'm still not feeling as good as I was last week, but I'm just really hoping I can get it together and get back to my routine.

  3. Glad to hear you have a couple extra days!! My large incision is not yet healed but the smaller ones are just fine. I started working from home on Friday and today has really been the only day that I've felt good. After feeling pretty fantastic on last Thursday, was bummed by how bad I've felt over the weekend. Hopefully now everything is better. Planning to go into the office either Friday or next Monday and I'm still not sure I'm ready for that!

  4. @@Georgia Pritchett I too am worried about getting everything in at work. It can get so busy that I often forget to eat/drink on a normal basis. My doc said to just keep a Protein Shake and/or Water with me at all times. I have a coworker who had gastric bypass a few months ago and I asked her about it. She said it can be a challenge but that she sets alarms on her fitbit to provide a reminder. Ive been trying that these past few days and it's be a nice, discreet reminder - just a vibration of the band.

  5. Hi everyone, looking for some advice. I was sleeved on 9/3 and have had a pretty uneventful recovery. Took one dose of meds after leaving hospital and each has been progressively better. Able to get fluids/protein down easily and walk up to a couple miles. My preop was this past Thursday morning and everything was fine. However, since Thursday night, I haven't felt the best. I began having what felt like gas pains in the middle of my stomach and right shoulder. It kept me up most of the night and I couldn't seem to find relief. For some of the day Friday it seemed to feel more tolerable but as the night went on, the discomfort became progressively worse. Walking did not help. I ended up taking my prescription pain meds to get some relief and sleep. However, when the med cycle is up, the discomfort returns. It is most uncomfortable in the center of my stomach, top of abdomen/base of sternum. Since Thursday I've tried only drinking my food (no creamed soups/puddings) and it seems to be more difficult to get my fluids in. I'm not in a stabbing type of pain but incredible discomfort. I don't know if this is a normal part of the healing process or if I should be alarmed. Anyone have a similar experience?

  6. I had surgery on 9/3 and I had some gas pains immediately following surgery and then it dispersed. However, starting last night I begin getting really frustrating, persistent gas. I thought it might have been due to mashed potatoes that I ate, but would have thought it would have passed by now if that is the case. I don't know if this is normal? I feel it at the top of my diaphragm and in my right shoulder. I also took a fairly long walk yesterday and wonder if it's possible to have dislodged some residual gas? I resorted to taking my pain meds (haven't taken any in over a week) and that has provided some relief. Has anyone else had any sudden gas over a week after surgery??

  7. I was sleeved on the 3rd and recovery has been pretty uneventful. I had my post op yesterday and everything appears to be on track. I am currently on full liquids with a few exceptions, such as thinned mashed potatoes. I've been taking Pepcid and haven't had any heartburn issues, although I think the acid is what causes the "hunger" I feel at times. Last night I had a strange episode of gas pains that plagued me all night, which sucks since I'm working from home today. Feeling very foggy and tired. Not sure what caused the gas? Still feeling some this am. I also started my Multivitamin for the first time yesterday and it was absolutely horrid! Think I'm going to try a chewable instead.

  8. @@Myonlybattle I too have been having some crazy digestive issues. Unlike you, I actually had the accident, lol!

I had Greek yogurt for the first time today. It was pretty darn good. I'll have to ask at my appointment tomorrow about cottage cheese. That actually sounds yummy. Are you finding that you are feeling hunger? I've been having hunger since Sunday. Today it seems exceptionally strong and I'm not feeling "full".

  9. Anyone have any creative ideas for "spicing" up this liquid phase? I can think of a ton of ideas for the purees, but not much for liquids. I am already sick of them! lol I did buy some sugar free syrups to try to help. Added some to my Protein shake this morning and will add some to some plain Greek yogurt later.

Also, how is everyone doing with getting their "food" down? I have had no issue with 4oz of anything at this point (protein shakes, yogurt, creamed Soup, etc.). Yesterday I drank 20oz of G2 Gatorade in probably less than 2 hours, which was a new record for me, lol.

  10. I still don't have energy. Did some laundry, I didn't lift the bags. Came home and took a two-hour nap. I have been driving, in the neighborhood but today I drove for about 2 hours. I guess that's what tired me out also. I am drinking more liquids and Protein. Go to Dr for a check up tomorrow.

Yeah, I've been a bit low energy. Driving made me tired too. I have to work harder at the liquids/protein. It's overwhelming sometimes.
