  1. I forget about the ProtiDiet hot chocolate. Thanks for the reminder.
  2. Have you been engaged three years?
  3. PS, I am intrigued with the 10-item wardrobe. http://dailyconnoisseur.blogspot.com/2015/10/ten-item-wardrobe-fall-winter-2015.html?m=1
  4. I am looking forward to being where you are! I am not working but am starting the process of returning to work (am currently on disability). Interviewing and finding something to wear is my biggest area of anxiety right now. I am in a place where I can buy some clothes off the rack. My top is straddling the line between straight sizes and plus sizes but my bottom is still plus size. For now, I am supplementing with sale/inexpensive clothes. What I am looking forward to is being able to start over with a new wardrobe. I want to build a classic wardrobe with pieces I LOVE. I want to possibly use a personal shopper at a nicer department store to get me started but that is a ways down the road. Best of luck with your new job!
  5. One thing I wish I had known was how important protein is for health and weight loss. I might have never needed WLS. There are many sources of protein: supplements Meat (beef, poultry, fish, pork, lamb/mutton, goat, frog, shellfish, etc., etc,) Dairy (milk, cheese, yogurt) Nuts, Beans, and legumes (nuts, nut butters, beans, hummus, etc) Vegetables In my program guide there is a whole list of protein sources. Have you met with a nutritionist or had any nutrition education, yet? You mention a couple of times how you don't like chicken. There is no law that says you have to eat chicken. You don't have to eat chicken, it just happens to be easy to find, especially at restaurants. You don't have to eat bland food. You can use herbs and spices to flavor your food.
  6. Why isn't protein required now? It is critical for healing. Plus, you are hungry. Your body NEEDS protein to heal.
  7. I was able to count all fluids toward my total, so if you are able to drink 96 oz of water you can get in your protein. You can add protein to water (try something like ProtiDiet liquid beverage concentrates, Syntrax nectar, or similar) or even just drinking Protein shakes (like premier). 3 Premier Protein shakes would be 90 grams protein and 33 oz of Fluid.
  8. I am not aware of any reason you can't eat sashimi (or even sushi) once you are cleared for all foods.
  9. Welcome, George. I am so sorry to hear you have been having such a rough time. I am glad to hear that you were able to get some relief after seeing your doctor and that you are on the mend. As you are able to have an easier time getting in your fluids and Protein it will really help with healing. Keep us posted on how you are doing.
  10. I have been pretty open about my surgery. I haven't announced it on social media but other than that I haven't kept it a secret.
  11. It is powdered Peanut Butter. For me, the benefits are taste and Protein with minimal calories. I have added it to pudding, Greek yogurt, and oatmeal.
  12. I didn't have a set amount. But, if setting short term goals helps you get it all in then that can be a good strategy.
  13. Being nervous is very understandable and very common. The pre-op anxiety and uncertainty was the worst part of the whole process for me. The best advice I can give you is to do everything your team asks you to do, even if you think you can't. Be committed to try. Getting up and walking right after surgery will help you feel better sooner. And, sip, sip, sip. Getting in all of your Fluid and Protein will help you heal and lose weight.
  14. Yes, I had to sip on fluids all day early out.
  15. Try other liquid sources of protein if you don't like premier like: bone broth, ProtiDiet liquid beverage concentrates, Syntrax nectar, Isopure, etc.
  16. Liquids will pass right through you. Some people have difficulty with fluids early out due to swelling, but if you are lucky enough to be able to drink easily I don't think there is anything at all to be worried about.
  17. I am so sorry you aren't feeling well. Yes, it does sound like you answered your own question. Have you talked to your NUT and your surgeon about your concerns. Starting right now, it sounds like you need to do everything possible to get in all of your Fluid and Protein and take your Vitamins and supplements. Just doing those things should really help you feel better, regain your energy, and lose weight. Once you are able to up your fluid and protein, exercise should help, too.
  18. Thank you for your honesty and sharing. As others have said, you do not need to do this alone. AA, a counselor or therapist, your physician, and recovering alcoholics can all be a tremendous help. You do not have to face it alone.
  19. LOL! Why does that only seem to happen at Walmart?
  20. Just keep sipping. Try different temperatures and textures. For a long while plain Water was the hardest thing for me to drink. Try infused water, water enhancers, decaf tea, sugar-free Popsicles, crushed ice, etc. Try ice cold, room temperature, warm (like tea or soup). Just keep at it and make short-term goals. If you wait until you are hungry or thirsty you will never get it all in. Sip, sip, sip.
