I didn't have a set amount. But, if setting short term goals helps you get it all in then that can be a good strategy.

My docs plan said to drink 4oz protein drinks 6x daily =about 24oz and in between that I was supposed to drinks 4-8oz of no calorie beverages crystal light, diet Snapple, broths, water etc. I feel fine a week out and have lost 10lbs so far but it is hard to wake up at 8am and take in all the recommended fluids by 6pm. It takes me until about 9pm still. The time it takes is getting better as my stomach heals. I am on full fluids for another 2 weeks but I get to have yogurt cream soups and cream of wheat too so its okay lol Good luck!!!!
